Idk a lot of the “I’m over the album already” and “I’m not excited anymore” comments are imo kind of dramatic. Like, I understand Lana definitely should be posting more promo, and maybe shouldn’t have posted the album announcement so long ago with no follow up, considering her history of not committing to certain dates - but a lot of people are gonna do a 180 when she eventually says something about releasing new material… for me personally, I’m happy with new music, regardless of when she decides to put it out. I think it’s one thing to critique her for giving out false dates, and another to say you’re not excited at all anymore for the album. For now we just have to wait and see.

I wanted the cover to feel like an old photograph, with that nouveau riche vibe that was everywhere in old Louisiana. It fits, since I think she’ll be diving into lyrics about the state and the new life she’s building there and we know how much Lana loves everything vintage.
For the back cover, I imagine the song titles having a poetic feel, connecting like pieces of a story—each one flowing into the next, like she’s telling it all through the record.

I think it’s a conscious decision to change the tone of her voice for different songs, I don’t think the year makes much of a difference, I strongly suspect she still has the vocal clarity and agility (think about Blue Skies) to sing how she did in BTD and Ultraviolence (e.g shades of cool). But she is also like over a decade older, and probably just wants to adapt it to suit her age. 
Can’t be doing that baby voice when you’re almost 40. (You deffo can, but it does not have the same effect).
