Ocean Blvd is technically better than Norman but most of the mixing/mastering of Ocean sucks so it kinda ruins the experience of that record

i had an account on there and it was dead even in it's heyday. there's very few artists who are able to cultivate a fanbase dedicated enough to have an online forum (an already dying medium). Lana and Gaga are among the few exceptions imo

Sadly it also seems there are lost site themes from this time which don’t load on the way back machine because of the way that the site handles them
Marinaboards was basically abandoned in its later years with little organisation and care done for it leading to problems and mods not even logging into the site and the site went up for sale around the same time as lanaboards and was bought by the Gia who made diamondgarden (idk if they bought marinaboards and sold the domain again and bought a cheaper one but still made a Marina forum which existing marinaboards accounts could log into) which had an updated forum software with support for things like chat and blogs and a promised better future. In 2019 diamondgarden was shutdown (seemingly) with no notice and both Twitter accounts are still up. They look very similar to lb because the ran on the same forum software (invision community) which runs lots of forums. Thankfully lb was bought by queen elle and the site has been thriving ever since, the marinaboards story is full of speculation from me as I was not on the site much at the time and idk many people who used the site in its heyday.
 
 
Wish there was a Marina forum still up to this day but there’s an extremely unlikely chance of one ever being created as forum websites are dying as a whole in the age of places like discord  

Her label should’ve done the same thing they did with SZA when she was working on CTRL and just steal her hard drive and publish whatever was on it cause if this had been released in 2019 it would have made every single top 100 albums of the decade list and ushered in a new wave of pop music for real. Like it’s so fucking monumental

this situation really is making me question Melanie and give these allegations more thought and I feel awful I hadn't done that before. whether Timothy lied or not will probably never be officially confirmed but I hope Melanie atleast speaks up this time instead of dropping 2 short statements a song and then ignoring the situation for the next 6 years. I realise I sound very anti-Melanie right now but I'm not I'm just trying to not let my love and appreciation for Melanie's art cloud my critical thinking and morals

It seems that the drama is especially high in other artists' threads and in world news threads, especially when it comes to hot-topic debates. While LanaBoards welcomes opinions and discussions of different viewpoints, it is important that these opinions are shared and discussed in a respectful manner. As stated in our rules, LanaBoards will not tolerate any posts that are meant to be purposely inflammatory (flaimbaiting to intentionally start an argument) rude, hateful, insulting, or otherwise crossing a line, and members violating this rule will be warned and given restrictions at our discretion. This is something the moderator team is going to be taking very seriously as it is our mission to have LanaBoards be a safe and welcoming space for all.
Something we've especially been noticing a rise in is personal attacks towards other members and people including other artists, which is something we won't tolerate. Let this serve as a reminder that behind the usernames and profile pictures, we are all real people with real feelings. There's no need to make things personal. i agree with you sooo much. how Melanie's fanbase and the entire internet has treated a potential victim just because she accused their favourite artist is horrible. it really shows the kind of people they are. as a Melanie fan Timothy's accusations need to be taken more seriously and it disgusts me how Melanie's fans choose to harass someone who could've suffered assault instead of questioning Melanie and pushing her to speak out

Part of me really wants her to speak out about this again cause the way most of her fans have treated Timothy for the past several years is absolutely vile and disgusting. Yet she didn't bother telling any of her fans to stop threatening people until it came to that obnoxious ex-boyfriend of hers
