Alison by Slowdive liked a post in a topic by JDaniel in Courtney Love says that Lana Del Rey is her dream collaboration
https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/music/courtney-love-kendrick-lamar-taylor-swift-billy-corgan-b1196041.html
Who else would you like to collaborate with?
"I'd love to co-write a song with Lana Del Rey – I’d like to be “Paul” and go hard on choruses while going back to Norman and go hard on choruses, or whatever. She’s currently on her honeymoon; I'm very happy for her. But every time some kid asks me to “collab” with Lana – I mean come on! Can you stop saying "collab" to someone who straddles Gen X and boomer? We don’t do that! Call it “writing a song together,” not "featuring." It makes me lose my temper and makes it the last thing I want to do."
What are some of your favourite lyrics?
"You can't beat “My pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola” as an opening line! [from Lana Del Rey’s ‘Cola’]"

lolita (the book) is a brilliant + terrifyingly powerful portrayal of an extremely abusive, exploitative pedophile and the ways in which he manipulates both his victim and the reader - highly recommend. nabokov's grasp on language is unmatched.

I noticed that the Instagram account of Electric Lady Studios (the studio where Lana records her stuff with Jack) liked the post about the Vogue article part which said that Lasso is going to be Southern Gothic. And it's also the same post where Lana commented that "it was a mistranslation" lol. But the studio liking that, might indicate that it's indeed Southern Gothic, I don't know...

gently and w love: the south is not a monolith, a great many people here aren't white, and the rest of the country is just as racist as non-southerners believe the south to be– the racism just functions/appears differently.
i understand what you're saying, or trying to say, but blanket statements about what the south is or isn't from people who've never lived here and act like it's the armpit of america isn't painting an accurate portrait of the complexity of this part of the country.
sincerely, a person who's been living in GA for 10+ years (and also held a lot of misconceptions about what the south is before living here)

Regardless of what her stances are, I do think this recent descent into the culture of the South isn’t without some sort of internalization of the popular beliefs there, even if it’s not an entirely conscious thing. The people you spend the most time with are bound to impact you. The person you marry says a lot about you.
I personally would not develop an affinity for the American South as someone who knows the history there and isn’t white. I have never thought that Lana is someone who doesn’t mean well but her positionality affords her the luxury of not having to take too strong of a stance on anything bigger than herself, at least publicly. And that’s fine, she doesn’t have to.
I think the insight she shares through songs are a commentary on American social life—a particularly distinct account of white American womanhood—and that’s enough. Of course, this perspective she writes from certainly resonates with all audiences and transcends all kinds of identity markers. We wouldn’t all be here if that weren’t the case.
But Lust for Life was, indeed, just one reactionary album to the status quo and captures the cultural shock of Trump’s first win. A lot has changed since 2017, and even since 2021 when Biden was inaugurated. The American people have only grown more divisive and perhaps we can take Lana’s static disposition to be representative of that. Nothing more, nothing less.

Lana's music will always hold an incredible importance to me, but I'm going to be honest, I've been struggling to listen since she married Jeremy. Knowing that he backs pure hatred and evil, and that Lana married him just disappoints me so much

she married someone who openly, passionately supports trump lol, so don't be shocked when people start to speculate that she might've changed her mind on politics

No one said that though?
I didn’t say she was a Republican - I said I don’t think she cares nowadays and @motel six has a similar sentiment (please correct me if I’m wrong, Motel)
It’s way more nuanced than what you are implying
