I personally think people just wanted to clutch their pearls and feel some sort of outrage for the thrill of it. People LOOOOVE to be on the "right" side of a public outcry over morals.
It takes two to tango here. Ariana may have "poached" someone else's man....but that man said "Yes" and went along with it. He's just as "bad" as her in the situation, and what I ultimately think puts gas on the fire is that most people don't want to admit that marriage and kids doesn't mean your relationship is final, locked down, and "good". Someone who's in a happy, loving, perfect marriage and who has a great relationship can't be "stolen". A home has to have some significant holes in it for someone to walk in and "homewreck", and I think a lot of people don't want to admit that reality, because it means doubting the stability of their own relationships to some degree. Better to take all that emotion and keep it on the outside and throw it at the "harlot" with no morals who "selfishly home wrecked and took a father away from his wife and child", rather than admit that maybe two people unhappy in their own relationships found each other and realized that they could have better.
Once the media got tired of the story and ran something else, people stopped imaging themselves in her/their shoes and self-inducing rage by imaging it happening to them. Then folks simply just moved on.
(Then Wicked came out and the joys of a good performance erased any traces of controversy from their minds).
That's just my 2 cents.

That's so sad. I hope it's something operable and able to be removed, and her mom can make a full recovery.
But also....the concept of "an artist has a sick family member we should lock a thread" is wild to me lmao.

she said that she prepared years for her transition into acting bc she didnt want it to be like „oh another popstar that suddenly thinks they can act now“ and i think the director of faces of death spoke very highly of her so im hopeful! but the lashings are definitely coming in, especially w this narnia nonsense. i cant take it. lmfao.

She had a bunch of label issues because they wanted a hit single out of her before she was allowed to release an album. She never managed to get one and eventually got dropped by the label, after which she just disappeared for a few years. Once she came back, it was with sporadic singles as an independent artist since she didn't have the resources to release an album yet, so she kept up with just singles while getting an album together over the next few years.
The re-recordings of "I Took a Little Something" and "I'm Gonna Get You Back" (retitled as simply "Get You Back" on The Lost Ones) were nods to the journey. They were songs she loved that had always been in the back of her mind as songs that deserved to be on an album, when it was finally released. The lyrics were also changed to reflect her new perspectives.

I guess nobody really was ready.

I think people just don’t care one way or another. It’s not that they “forgave” her, it’s just that in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t really matter. She’s not offending her fanbase, so it’s easy to ignore it. I’m not saying what she didn’t wasn’t messed up, but that’s just the way it is

POP 3 is here 😍 This new EP is absolutely fantastic, my only criticism is that it is slighlty too derivative from other artists at time ( Twist The Knife definitively feels like a Turn off The Lights copycat) but even when it does it’s great songs so can I really complain ??

Listened to it finally.
full disclosure : I’m not the biggest Gaga fan at all, I love her voice but I don’t really connect with most of her songs since Born This Way, but it’s almost always the case with pop.
Not a bad album at all. But my main concern is how not representative at all of the whole album the singles are Even Garden of Eden, with its snippet used for race cars, is nowhere near 80s like most of the album is. It’s almost as if Disease, Abracadabra (although it has some 80s influences), Garden of Eden and Die With a Smile are an EP (Blade of Grass also could be there) and the rest of the album is 80s Mayhem.
That being said, there are good pop gems on there : Vanish Into You, How Bad Do You Want Me.
But yeah, Killah is a fucking turd 💩

Disease, Abracadabra and Garden of Eden are def my favs off the album. They are so uniquely her, while the rest of the album kinda sounds like her emulating other artists (Bowie, Michael Jackson, Prince, etc.). Even though I like the album, I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't wish the rest of the album was more in the vein of the first 4 songs, but I do really enjoy the rest of the album. I don't think the whole "Mayhem is a varied album with a bunch of different sounds" description is that accurate tbh, I actually wish it had MORE variation. It's mostly just the first 4 songs being different with the rest of the album having a very clear theme/sound with similar influences. It feels like you're listening to an entirely separate cohesive body of work from Vanish Into You onwards, which is my only problem with this album. The tracklist needs more balance. I hope the 2 bonus tracks will help balance out the tracklist a little bit more. From the way she described "Can't Stop The High" it seems like it will, I just hope "Kill For Love" will too and isn't another 70s/80s throwback moment.

I get why people are disappointed on their initial listens considering most of this album's very 70s/80s inspired and not the type of dark industrial pop people were expecting based on Disease and Abracadabra, but I just listened through for the first time and I really loved it. I think opinions will shift more positively once this album settles for people and they let go of the expectations they had that this was gonna be The Fame Monster 2.0

You are all so boring....she's never gonna make another btw or artpop it's not 2015....it's 2025 stop comparing it to her old work and appreciate the record for what it is
The majority of these songs are not "bad" they just weren't what you were expecting
Listen again with an openmind and don't make mayhem into another artpop where you all hate it now and then claim it's her best in a few years
Anyways everyone is entitled to their own opinions...I just think the overall negative reaction is....odd

Well, the album certainly isn’t the industrial gothic dreams record Gaga has been talking about it’s more early 80s neo funk outside of 3 songs.
I’m actually screaming at how everyone thought Die With A Smile wouldn’t fit, but it’s more indicative of the album than Abracadabra ….. why does this album photoshoot look like a metal record, gurl
Tbh though the album is actually VERY good. Big disco pop funk choruses, the production is fantastic on nearly all the tracks.
Perfect Stranger, LoveDrug, Shadow, Zombie, Abra, Disease, all amazing.
Perfect Stranger should be single 3, not Eden.
Vanish is the only meh track. The rest is cute or good.
