This song wrecks me every time. Some of the lyrics are so hopeful but then the you realize/remember the song is about missed love. Those hopeful lyrics don't come true. In a way this song could be interpreted as two people singing the same song/having the same feelings separately, they don't know the other is singing the same song/has the same feelings. This way, the line "isn't life crazy... now that I'm singing with Sean" doesn't break the image of a love story by bringing awareness to the song being just a song. Singing with Sean adds to the narrative of fantasized romance.
