  1. this news came as a shock to me because i’ve been glad that lana has been silent about this all along…well, at least it’s a silly letter and she didn’t fully post the israel flag or some shit on her story
  2. the more i listen to this the more i like it…it’s perfect for a cold winter day, melancholy and delicate. lana sounds gorgeous in her verse
  3. these titles sound intriguing and really sound like they’d fit in with the theme of zodiac – “for the serial killer, the prostitute pick up, and pantyhose thriller”…very mysterious, dark, and reminiscent of vintage thriller/horror films. do you guys think they’ll see the light of day on ldr10, or will we have to wait years for them to be leaked
  4. also is she whispering with a raspy ass voice like that because of all the vaping…she’s never sounded like that even when she smoked cigs
  5. lana is so me…if i was a celeb i could see myself posting an instagram video trying to explain myself and then deleting it right after. i understand how on one hand she gives zero fucks about trying to be popular or appealing to people, but on the other hand she hates being misunderstood and gets defensive when people misunderstand her.
  6. just listened - better than hollywood bowl and life lesson. the melody is really nice and has a slight darkness to it - it’s a shame the production couldn’t be more interesting. the melody actually kinda reminds me of paris texas lmao am i the only one? like if it was slower and sung with her lower voice
  7. btd - the outtakes give me “lizzy grant”, i don’t think any of them fit the new production of this album paradise - life is beautiful uv - pink champagne or cult leader hm - idk, i love crazy for you and dark city but don’t think they fit the album lfl - serene queen ocean blvd - zodiac
  8. there’s no “rickboards jackboards emileboards” because LANA is the writer of her songs and taylor is currently the biggest pop star and she writes everything including her biggest hits…. and yea of course you don’t have to be a writer to be a star, i don’t think anyone was saying that, just our personal preference for artists is they write their music.
  9. mariah not only has the flex of having the most #1 hits out of any artist (19 hits), but also being the writer of all of those and on top of being an excellent songwriter she is also one of the greatest vocalists of all time i can’t imagine having that much talent
  10. yikes it’s safe to say beyonce isn’t a huge writer come to think of it, all the artists i rlly like and feel connected to their music are big songwriters (meaning they don’t just write like 4 words and have other writers write the rest) lana, taylor, hozier…i just really appreciate that in an artist. i like some of ari’s songs for example but i cant see myself “stanning” her music because to me being the main writer is so integral, and of course being a good writer lol.
  11. oh come on…i thought we left the whole “lana del rey daddy lolita dating older men coke xx” in the tumblr era. their extra comment was just weird too “Lana sings a lot about liking older men to fuck her good…” like huh.
  12. dreary = dreamy, romantic, lush, heavenly, cinematic, classic
  13. they do have a country twang - thought she was talking sound wise. i don't care what the sound/genre for ldr10 is as long as we get beautiful melodies like that
  14. lana is so funny honestly we can't trust her to describe her own music

people saying 1989 isn’t beachy and taylor is changing the aesthetic y’all new york is a STATE. a state full of islands such as long island, fire island, etc. new york city itself is built on islands…staten island and manhattan are full islands, brooklyn, queens, and the bronx have islands in them. 1989 has always been a love letter to new york as a whole. and ny can look like this: her iconic beach photoshoot during the 1989 era: people are so confused over the beach aesthetic because they think beach = california warm summer palm trees…but from the pictures i posted, you can see that the beaches are cool, blue, and very east coast. it’s so 1989. some tracks match a nyc glamorous vibe, but most tracks match the island vibe. the only songs that stand out to me as being super “bright lights nyc” is welcome to new york and new romantics. the rest of the album can honestly be rich bitch in hamptons. also people are acting like the music videos showed times square, skyscrapers, clubbing in the city…those were never the visuals. out of the woods and style music videos were filmed on beaches with visuals of ocean waves and woodlands, plus have a cold aesthetic of snow, rain, and lightning. style: ootw: the blank space music video was filmed in long island mansions. wildest dreams was filmed in a damn safari, full of sand. bad blood is the only nyc music video. again 1989 is the entirety of new york and not just one area. tweets like this irk me like i get where y’all are coming from but i feel like the pop songs are what give you “nyc” vibes, the visuals have never been just nyc however. 1989 era tay:

“Slut!” makes more sense because there’s quotation marks so it could be about the media’s perception of her
