I like this, I really hope she's developed a better sound for herself, lyrically & musically. UV felt like she just "threw up" ideas on the table, it didn't seem completed...

    100% here for this album.
It sounds so classic and just like Lana going back to her roots while still bringing something new to the table.

I'm glad she's obviously inspired and has found her muse again.
Stylistic changes are development are always good for an artist.

It sounds great but I'm praying this isn't a rehashed version of like, Shades of Cool and esp. Driving in Cars with Boys...

I really like it as an album name, but yeah you're right.

inb4 the record is titled Stalker and has a photo of Lana looking over a fence with binoculars

    that would be so campy

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, but we can only hope.

I'm actually excited to see how she will work the jazz sound into such a pop-sounding title

    From LA times interview:

IDK about you guys, but this sounds like such an interesting concept to me! She could do a lot of cool stuff with it (and I hope she does).

Meanwhile the 'alternative' fans be like:

After Lana has released her 37 minute psychedelic grunge epic "I Actually didn't fuck my way up to the top (feat. Courtney Love)" accompanied by a music video of herself painting her toenails grey and slitting her wrists on the thorns of white roses (filmed on an iphone, ffs) the indie queen/reincarnation of Kurt Cobain will cancel her summer tour to find a reason to break up with latest boyfriend Francesco Carrozzini. Then on May 1st Lana will release her latest album HONEYMOON to critical acclaim and continue not to release singles for the next year before staging her own drive-by shooting, framing Lorde then returning from the dead one week later and suprise releasing her revolutionary future-jazz album "suicide note" (dedicated to the late Barrie James O'neill) before buying herself out of her contract with interscope to join Azealia Banks' newly formed independent label "F U IGGY RECORDS" and Lana shall be initiated into the league of icons by Beyoncé, wearing the skin of Stefani Germanotta as she bathes in Chanel No 5 and sacrifices a child to the spirits of Hollywood.

Hey, at least she never has another top 40 single

You know what, whatever Lana does with her music, I'll be happy with it. She had me hooked for this long, so I trust that I will love her upcoming music. For some reason, we all want her to become bigger, which is exciting to watch, but honestly, fuck it. As long as she keeps making music, I'm fine with whatever happens.

Already enough for me to say that the new smash single Violet Ardour will impact pop radio in April, followed by an electronic jazz remix by Cedric Gervais as the 2nd single (title still unknown). So  YAAAS! After Lana has ditched Courtney Love for Austin Mahone at her tour, neither flower headed hairextensions nor toehairs will be safe. After a glorious SNL performance during the release week, the early sales predicitions will be at about 1.2 million copies batteling Britney Spears and Taylor Swift for the best selling opening sales by a female solo artisté.

Ugh i don't really wan Lana to go jazz, nor do i want more songs like Big Eyes/I Can Fly. I would love for Lana to do something more with rock/grunge and the guitars, like she did in Cruel World. I would also love for her to re-do some LDR AKA LG songs, but that will never happen (also more songs like Florida Kilos pls and West Coast )

... I'm confused. People seem to be talking like they've made some official announcement. Correct me if I'm wrong but all we have is a possible title, one description of the album, and an unconfirmed producer as well as an estimated release date in AUGUST??
I mean I thought that wiki page was a little premature seeing how we hadn't had any official announcement, but in the past few pages people have been making statements I can't really see the logic behind. Could someone update me? Or is this fandom just jumping the gun as per usual?

I just FUCKING hope there is some proper and specific promos.. Like radio, maybe live performances on TV shows.. I didn't like this era. I loved the music and it had a big potential but
    she really needs promo.

I'm hoping she ~finds~ herself vocally with this album, sings in her range, whatever. I really want her to go full out jazz, her voice is suited for it.

3 albums in and i'm happy to see she's a versatile artist. I thought we would get 3 BTD albums by now, which is fine, i love that stuff, but she's shifted here and there and mixed it up a little which has been good i think. I love that she has enough balls to do something like Ultraviolence after the amount of success she had during the BTD era, she could have played it really safe and just made something that would sell millions, but she stuck to her guns and did what she wanted, lots of respect for that.

Sounds like the next album may be a more return to the lush movie style production we saw with her previous albums, which after Ultraviolence i'm hungry for. I hadn't listened to UV for a few months and played it the other day, it really is a fantastic album, so so good, but Big Eyes has really made me excited for her to tread more familiar territyo this year. I can't wait, she's been very consistent for me music wise, so far she hasn't disappointed me, so i expect her next album to be good.

I don't trust Lana when it comes to anything, except for making great music. What she's hinted at sounds like it's going to be amazing.

Judging by her offerings from the Big Eyes soundtrack, I expect excellence from Lana. I want her to continue to grow and explore herself as a woman and artist, and then pour all of that into the new music. I loved Ultraviolence, so I am excited. Hopefully, she will connect with Rick Nowels and some of the other gals who have helped her create, what is to me, her best work.

ULTRAVIOLENCE is a Godly album! So fucking solid, dripping reverb, haunting vocals. Heath did great with tropico, old money, but I don't think Lana should continue to work so closely with him anymore. I think his piano/orchestra material is cringe worthy at times, especially the opening of I Can Fly. She should stick with more rock and roll producers and writers, I feel like her cinematic vision is supported by Heath and her vision as an artist outside of film is better suited writing songs with Nowles, Stranathan, Auerbach!!!!!

I must admit that Ultraviolence was harder for me to grasp. I like some of the songs, but I found some of the compositions jarring. She does great with jazz tinged songs and I love her description - a 50s vibe with a bit of soft grunge. Yes please! lol

I guess I meant just some stronger songs. I don't know how to word what I'm saying lol I don't mean hits as in radio singles or songs that will grab the general public's attention, I just think in a lot of cases, her choruses need work and working with other people may bring about more interesting and less monotonous parts of her songs.

I'd like to see her work with Parker again, but I think Nowels and Heath are great at materializing her vision. I don't think much would change with different co-writers.

And I'd much rather that she stay in more alternative zones and make very cohesive albums than chase hits. Quality albums always stick around, but hits come and go.

Ultraviolence did well enough, but I feel like she's still in need of a hit. I don't know if that even makes sense. There are standouts on UV, but nothing so singularly strong that the album itself stands out. I really love that each album is produced by someone different, as it adds so much variety to her discography, but part of me thinks she needs to work with different writers as well. As much as I love the songs she's written with Nowels, I think she should expand on her writing team a little.

Come back Tim Larcombe and Justin Parker...
