  1. i think black and white can get dull unless the cinematography is beyond gorgeous so i suppose in a way it is more difficult to create something truly beautiful without color. never thought of it that way but maybe there is an actual reason for that bit of pretense? not a fan of the blue jeans video but we'll see how this goes parts of the preview seem a bit DIY and if that's the case i'm already in love
  2. how does an appreciation for color relate to a distaste for subtitles? black and white film doesn't make the viewing any more or less difficult, does it? sounds like a pretentious comparison from my perspective but maybe i'm just not understanding yours
  3. so after listening to the two different 4 minute versions i think this is the only way for me to describe the differences in the chorus i can see my baby swinging i can see my baby swinging i can see my baby swinging vs i can see my baby swinging i can see my baby swinging i can see my baby swinging i couldn't exactly pinpoint why i hated the second version but i think its cause the layering makes her sound robotic, if not somewhat militaristic
  4. the new version is nice -- i actually like the way she sings the verses but the chorus completely lost its power. it doesn't compare to the original in any way; its just... cute (whereas the original was like fucking supernatural on some level)
  5. can someone post the link to the 1:30 preview? the itunes link i see only has a 30 second clip
  6. they're making us wait 30 days to purchase the radio edit of a song that was already released half a month ago? k
  7. don't wear anything white unless you want it dyed yellowish brown from other people's sweat and/or blood lel that was more of a general tip than a survival tip. keep your elbows out? wear spikes? practice by walking through a carwash ok no but really there is no way to know. it depends on the crowd but you will be extremely uncomfortable so just mentally prepare yourself
  8. ugh. reminds me of when they fucked up body electric
  9. can someone please highlight / point out the differences? i am not good with these things and am too lazy to find them all
  10. i think the most accurate way to categorize her is by placing her on the fringe of the mainstream due to personal sensibilities that pull her to and between both sides of art and pop
  11. its so funny to see her vamping it up on stage one minute and then being awkward as fuck the next das my bitch
  12. LOVE this article. he's really spot on about her temperament. last time i read this was before so legit leaked so after going through it again i caught onto some shade
  13. i was honestly extremely distracted by the contorted faces, crying, shouting etc that seemed to peak around west coast (of all the fucking songs) so my recall on the performance itself is kind of fractured.. am i just oblivious, or was there no high pitched synth at the end of the song? i felt like it was missing which blows cause its my favorite part and it would've been the most perfect sound to sum up those moments in particular
  14. i think its you're pullin' hard, i push away (reversed later to 'you're pushin' hard, i pull away) and no one ever made me feel that much higher (?)
  15. whatever no you did not! it was insane for the first several rows though so i'm surprised we didn't all end up leaving with black eyes tbh i was behind you in line, probably about 30-40 or so people? i got there at 9 AM so i was definitely not at the far front. i was probably staring rudely for a second or two because i recognized you but wasn't 100% sure she came down to the front a few times in between or at the end of songs (to sign or accept gifts) but she didn't take any selfies until the end of national anthem anyway who the fuck was the guy with the sleeveless denim jacket? neuf? is that you? he was in front of me in line (i.e equally or nearly as obsessive) so it wouldn't be surprising for him to be on lb. i don't even live in SF i just wanna know cause i'm creepy lmao
  16. did anyone waiting near the back exit see her? i waited for like a half an hour but people were starting to say she had already left and i had to pee so i jumped in a cab i think i saw @@MermaidMotel? did you see her after the show? where in line were you guys @@neuf @ ? i was sort of near the front; i was the tall antisocial guy in the blue / grey dinosaur cap lmao
  17. IT WAS SO INTENSE AND CRAZY AND GIRLS WERE CRYING AND SCREAMING AND CHOKING FOR AIR BUT NOT IN AN IRONIC WAY ps was anyone here the cute white boy with the bouffant hair and sleeveless denim jacket i will type more later cause right now i am beyond exhausted from all the shoving / fighting / flailing but she sounded so beautiful all night
  18. COLACNT

    Lana accent

she has an american accent but she toys with it a bit, adding touches of 'british' elements to infuse a sense of ~sophistication, elegance, culture, intellect, etc i think gaga does it too, but it doesn't sound nearly as natural
  19. lana del rey on the kevin and bean show lmao people will never stop making fun of her no matter what she does
  20. every time i hear the chorus i start rubbing my neck without even realizing lmao this song is so good that i'm worried everyone already has the lyrics down pat so i won't be able to hear a fucking word out of her mouth at the concert on friday
  21. when the chorus hits, its like being swept over by a fucking (~coastal) wave. also, the synth at the end is rather ultraviolent i really love how its divergent from her past releases, but still fitting under the umbrella of "hawaiian glam metal" FUTURE LEGEND
