In all honesty, I think Lana is a fantastic writer in her own niche. Overall she's not a great songwriter in the way someone like Sia is, but she's very talented at writing for her own "character". The lyrics are all very specific to the picture of herself that she paints further separating Lana Del Rey from Lizzy Grant. Whether or not some of her fans will admit it, Lana Del Rey is a character (drawing from and embellishing real life emotions and experiences). I think she's a talented songwriter in that aspect. Lyrically she's very hit or miss for me. Nothing yet from this era has really done anything for me but then theres stuff like Born to Die which lyrically is a fantastic (near perfect) introduction to the concept of Lana Del Rey.

I actually never got around to playing the In Colour 3xLP and now I'm off at school away from my collection/TT. The sampler had a ton of surface noise upon the first play, but I washed it and put it in an anti-static sleeve and the next play there was less noise, but still some.

Lucked out. Pre-ordered it from his site and also got the In Colour sampler 12"

Yeah.......Ryn really dropped the ball with The Fool. Had she waited half a year and really worked at it, it could've been fantastic. But beyond the Promises EP and the title track (and the live version of Pierre) the album fell way short of expectations. Especially for a debut

I actually like the Drive demo a lot more than I like the album version. I like it with just the one vocal layer, it seems more intimate which is the feeling the song is going for

I'm pretty sure every version of the release: Limited LP/LP/CD has the velvet sleeve. $18 is actually a pretty common price for an LP released on an indie label like Sub Pop. People are usually just more used to pricing thats jacked up by major labels for profit.

Does anyone have this in HQ? I have the record and I'm obsessed with the 10 Mile Stereo (Cough Syrup Remix). The 12" plays at 45rm but I play it at 33rpm -20% and its fucking magic

Delete the file from apple music cloud. re-open it in iTunes but change the artist name to have an "s" on the end (or anything different), wait until it uploads to the cloud, and then change it back. I believe thats the solution.
