you're fucked up. stop perpetuating this idea that unless she's borderline scrawny she's chubby. if you saw her walking down the street as an average person you would not think 'that is a chubby girl' and if you DID you're an even bigger asshole because her weight right now is totally fine. get a grip seriously. putting on 5-10 lbs does not make her go from skinny to "so chubby" you giant baby.

she needs to grow the fuck up. she doesn't get to decide how a person interprets a song. not everyone who listens to her music cares about what its original meaning to her is. most people want to listen to music so they can apply it to their own lives and have it mean something to them. she should stop shoving her own personal sentiments down other people's throats and accept that once you put a song out there it isn't just yours anymore. it becomes something to anyone who listens to it and has it resonate with them. if she has no desire to let people interpret her art, why exactly does she want to make it? what childish fucking bullshit all this is. if she cares that much she may as well just have a narration/preface at the beginning of the each song, removing all excitement, mystery and the freedom of interpretation from it.

you're such a cunt lol.

definitely beautiful like everything she does but i do think it's an odd choice to release first. it sounds more like an intro than a full song or single to me (personally) -
Does anyone else suspect her and Grimes may be collaborating on something?
-
agree! they were together for so long and obviously mean a lot to each other regardless of whether or not they're still together. i think it was really nice to give her a cute shout on her birthday. shows that they are on alright terms and there isn't a ton of animosity anymore (if there ever even was).

bahahaha truly thought it was "sizzling like a snail" in summertime sadness when i first heard it

"Life Is Beautiful" - Soundtrack for The Age of Adaline

this is gonna be what happens -
agreed + it looks incredibly silly to be visibly upset by something and posting about it while saying that she doesn't care about reviews. if such were the case, i'm sure she never would have been so compelled to respond to it.

no i don't think greta gibson forever is finished. can't find the link to the ask on her tumblr now because she deletes a lot of stuff but a few days ago she said the songs from it on her bandcamp are just demos and the album will probably be between 13-16 songs. i'm not sure about the sequel thing however.

she recently got some press in vice and fader too http://www.thefader.com/2015/04/30/nicole-dollanganger-rampage http://noisey.vice.com/en_ca/blog/nicole-dollangangers-music-is-darkly-dolled-up her and Grimes talk a lot on twitter. i think they're good friends. also @@Jazzmin most of the videos in the OP are gone. would you mind updating? someone recently made very pretty lyrics videos for "Lemonade" and "Chapel" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQJybahg6HM and )

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
PinkVelvet replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
i have always thought that her songs about "K" were more daydreams of hers about Kurt Cobain. -

oh you fucking fool - first of all, you aren't going to find anyone mainstream who hasn't been autotuned. some make it more obvious than others or purposely put it up, but programs like melodyne are always used. otherwise people like you would be commenting 'omg her voice was slightly slightly off there'. secondly, have you seen her live performances? the girl can fucking sing. her voice is not created via autotune. and lastly - i can take some stupid lyrics of lana's out of contex as well and compare it to something really touching kesha wrote. wanna compare Betty Boop Boop to Kesha's Harold? not to mention that blah blah blah was in no way attempting to be anything like what cruel world is. that's like comparing Rihanna's Only Girl in The World to Leonard's Chelsea Hotel n.2. One is extremely different than the other but that doesn't mean one is better than the other. they are both strong songs in their own right. you wishing that all music can be lumped into one category and compared by the same means is so foolish. -
love her!! she's sooooo good.

sounds like plenty of offense to Kesha. her music may be way too mainstream for you but that doesn't mean she isn't talented. girl has a ton of talent - killer voice & writes a lot of her own material. i'm not in favor of the two of them collaborating either, but come on. -
i back this 100%. really well said. and do you see how often she reps her friends nicole ( https://twitter.com/Grimezsz/status/597884156534652928 ) and hana ( https://twitter.com/Grimezsz/status/598179696908480512 ) on her twitter and tumblr? she's always trying to help out other girls trying to make their way in the industry and doing what she can to support them. while i can totally respect anyone who doesn't like her music because it's not their cup of tea, i seriously don't get any sort of hate/rude remarks about her as a person or even as an artist. i may not be a huge bob dylan fan but you would never find me using that to suggest he is anything less than a talented, hardworking artist.
-
could not agree more. someone not liking an artist doesn't mean the artist isn't valid, talented, hardworking, deserving, etc. people are fucked up.
-
what's your damage heather? why are you trying to discredit her by saying she's "only mildly relevant on the internet" just because she's not your cup of tea? her stuff is incredibly innovative, not to mention she's totally changed the game by being a solo female artist who has (hundreds of times) gone on stage completely alone. she worked her way up from absolutely nothing - completely writes her own stuff, does her own artwork, directs her own videos... don't reduce her to some internet fad that will fizzle out in a few years when she's been extremely successful, developed a huge following & produced tons of great songs. her making it onto a lana del rey tour is a testament to that.

or when she said it would be "so dark it's almost unlistenable" ... -
I hope Pearl will take it.
-
hey, i love ride. it's a masterpiece. what i'm saying is that if we were all just reading ride's lyrics dry for the first time like... "I just ride, just ride, I just ride, I just ride" you know everyone would be ripping it apart you can't judge a song off lyrics alone.
-
i don't love these lyrics but i don't care because if just the lyrics to Ride had been posted before the song, i would've thought poorly of them... but the song is absolutely perfect. it's never good to read lyrics like they're a poem. you're getting 1/3 of what's really going on.
