Not some people only having 3 songs off Honeymoon on the setlist.

I do agree to a certain extent that it is a little bit disappointing that she is not "stepping out" of her comfort zone, specially after how good Ultraviolence is and how different it is to her previous records, at least when it comes to production.

However, I don't think that Honeymoon is a bad record, at all. I love all the songs and while I don't find the highs to be as good as Ultraviolence, I can listen and appreciate all the songs. Honeymoon is your typical Lana album and I think that it got an amazing execution and maybe it is just what she needed after Ultraviolence. Nevertheless, it is fundamental that she evolves and changes her style for the next album because this trick won't work for another consecutive release.

I really love Swan Song. It should have gotten a video. It has become a standout for me on this record along with The Blackest Day, 24, Salvatore and Terrence Loves You. The second half in general is way stronger than the first one.

Let's not act like: "The album is not cohesive, its all over the place. plus its so slooow and boring, so that make me being disappointed at her". When in reality is: "I'm tired of her not promoting her music besides the typical 4 magazines, radio interviews for fans and without any pop catering music video that can propel her career to be bigger and better. She's going on a downfall because of her messy decisions with her career. "

I think Freak is much better than Art Deco. The latter is non sense imo. I don't understand the metaphor she uses in that song and I think it's really overrated. Everywhere I go I see people saying it's the best song of the album and I can't really relate.

Either way you can't read or you are super overprotective. She definitly IS a diva. That's not a bad thing and the reason for it may be the sh*t the press has given her, but still she behaves diva-esque towards certain people. Many female stars do this.
And pls, this is a Lana Del Rey forum, not a"appreciate everything Lana Del Rey does without questioning it" forum. If you are already so offended by someone talking about Lana's personality in a polite way, especially when it's connected to a recent interview, then I really don't want to see hoe you react when people here ACTUALLY trash Lana for something.

I don't understand the praise Art Deco gets, i think it's overrated and not that great

God, this board kills me. No wonder people hate Lana stans.

"I want upbeat music! Too depressing". Go stan for Katy Perry.

I don't understand. Songs like Honeymoon, MTWBT, Art Deco, Religion and Freak make you sad?  None of those songs are sad, not even a little.

Born To Die had Nancy Sinatra x Lolita vocals, dramatic orchestra x hip hop beats, samples and e-drums, romance x tragedy ... all of these combinations made it very diversive and iconic.
Paradise had this power of evoking many emotions with each of it songs, it sounded like desire, loneliness, fragility and happiness ...
Ultraviolence is almost concept album-esque, with all it's dark yet summery vibes. It has a very raw and emotional sound and the lo-fi-rock was something different.

I really like the album with it's minimalistic yet very effective instrumentals, the use of more "uncommon" instruments and the laid-back atmosphere. It's coherent, yet each song is very unique.
I like every song (GKIT and TLY may be weaker songs, but I still really like them) but ... somehow the album's missing something to be her "greatest album so far" or my favourite one. It#s great to have Hobeymoon and I appreciate it a lot, but somehow it feels "least special" for me so far.
