Honestly, I get that people are tired of Jack's production but ms prettier jesus needs to take some of the heat too considering this song/album was co-produced by Jack also (and Kevin has literally said Venice Bitch inspired this entire whole album), I can hear the NFR production but it's a lot more interesting/unique than the direction Lorde seems to be taking. it still confuses me though because Melodrama was great and definitely unique to Lorde's sound imo (also am I the only person that hears more Taylor than Lana in these singles?? can't just be me )
  2. Chemtrails is still my favorite title track from her discography it makes me so sad "nobody's son, nobody's daughter" "You're born in December and I'm born in June" always gives me the chills

i'm listening to the lq mood ring leak and it sounds like hold music from 2007
  4. how is jeffree everywhere and nowhere at the same time
  5. the way this is like the bare minimum for every other pop girlie
  6. There’s just something so special about Pop 2. It might be the nostalgia I have with it but it’s such a comfort album to me. I liked Charli and loved HIFN but Pop 2 has this really unique charm for me
  7. Random but just wanted to say that I heard Primadonna at the club for the first time (any Marina song in general) and I went absolutely nuts omg I miss this era more places need to play her

I like California substantially more than Solar Power but yeah...I'm starting to think NFR and Melodrama are gonna be the peaks of his production career (can't comment on the St Vincent album because I don't really listen to her). The NFR sound really belongs to Lana California is really pretty though. I didn't like Green Light when it was first released, so I think this is gonna be a grower also.

This new song is great omg I almost cried giving me lindsay lohan vibes
  11. Honestly yeah, the only mv I watch is VB and that’s if I’m in the mood to waste some time. When I put the videos on randomly, like when I’m drunk or something, I get really nostalgic though! I think all of her mv’s are masterpieces tbh and they depend on what mood youre in
  12. DEMENTIA I know he probably said that because his lawyer or something, but that's like the worst route he could have taken
  13. aww i love this description lol the fiily/greatest mv is really peaceful to me, really random but i've always liked its color scheme. tbh this raises the point that NFR's music videos are obviously pretty different compared to her other eras. i think a lot of her videos have linear stories behind them, like LFL, BTD, BJ, WC. HBTB etc. but the NFR videos are just..vibey (except for Doin Time I guess). Even the FIILY/greatest mv's just showcase her crying, surfing, having fun at the dive bar, chilling in the sea port, etc. like, I know a lot of people don't like the venice mv because nothing really happens in it, but it's my favorite because of that. Even the NFR triple mv follows this and i personally just think it's cute (even though I don't watch it that much ). i can only imagine how much fun she had recording all of these mv's.
  14. honestly i'm missing charli x hannah diamond! She would have been perfect with her on Xcxoplex imo
  15. I don't know all of them but also Paradise Lost, The Road to Paradise Island (seen in HM MV), Valley of the Dolls, The Bell Jar or Sylvia Plath's Journals (tread with caution though because she was lowkey racist), The Sun Also Rises. I'd also recommend Beat Poetry because she constantly mentions beat poets, such as Allen Ginsberg's Howl. She seems to love Jack Kerouac's On The Road as well.
  16. i think chem's gonna be a gem like honeymoon tbh
  17. Imagine if the album releases July 4th and she doesn't even announce it, just a picture of the cover art without a caption three days later
  18. i'm always afraid to say this i think BTD/Paradise are of course classics, but I think they sound soo different (and cheesy) compared to the albums she made after. I think it was after HM/LFL when I realized this. I regularly revisit songs like Video Games or Radio and relisten to the whole album like once or twice a year, but those albums are just so different to me compared to UV and beyond.
