I knew there would be a thread on Kali here Found Kali when Isaiah Rashad tweeted a link to the Rush video a while ago - loved the song and have finally gotten around to listening to Por Vida. My favourites are Melting (so sweet), Sycamore Tree (very Lykke), Ridin Round and Loner. Downloading now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKWUm5ubkjo So pretty I wonder if she meant what she said about being more 'womanly' as opposed to a 'grungy teenager' or she was just saying that to explain her working with Jimmy Choo?

Has anyone from the UK found anywhere to order this online? Can't find it on Newstand I love Lana in pink, and the eyeliner and pink lips

Lana covers V Magazine's Best of the Best Issue
rivieragirl replied to veniceglitch's topic in Latest News
I agree with you but I think that's what makes these V photographs so beautiful - they remind me so much of the Paradise days and as I said before, back to even when I first saw Video Games. In fact I saw that lots of comments on her Instagram posts of these photos were celebratory words to the effect of 'Old Lana is back'. I agree with you in that that I was beginning to doubt whether this era would be as beautiful as any before, especially with the disappointing album art (in my opinion). However, to me these photographs look like a combination of Ultraviolence and Paradise, and they have completely renewed my faith in Lana and I'm looking forward to Honeymoon more than ever. -
No I thought it was "Open up a beer and you take it over here" but found out some time later when reading lyrics it's "Open up a beer and you say get over here", so you're right As for Radio I always thought it was "pick me up" but I suspect she changes the word to lick sometimes?

Loved the Bet/Feels Like Vegas video. Wondering if there will be a Nicki feature on Joyride? Love that title too.

Lana covers V Magazine's Best of the Best Issue
rivieragirl replied to veniceglitch's topic in Latest News
In V Magazine's "Best of the Best" issue (on newsstands September 18th), the sultry songstress (who was photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Mel Ottenberg) reveals to pal James Franco that interviews put her "in a bad f---ing mood." "I really try and keep my world beautiful but it’s tricky," she says. "We’re at a point in time when life truly can be what you want it to be." She also defends her music to the detractors who deem it negative or too melancholy. “First of all, when you’re writing a record alone, you don’t really think about the effect your music is going to have on other people. I’m not really the type of person to condone any behavior that would end up being harmful to anyone else but at the same time I’m not going to limit my lyrical content to things that don’t really relate to me or sing about things just because they rhyme.” https://www.yahoo.com/style/lana-del-rey-channels-her-c1439322603081.html- 88 replies

So funny reading this thread. I thought in 'Is This Happiness' she sang "I have been to Hollywood Hills taking violet pills". In Bel Air I thought it was "you've got a flair for the violin" (not sure what I thought she was saying immediately after!!) and "I don't love roses", which always struck me as an odd lyric for her lmao I always thought in Off to the Races the lyric was "to Las Vegas, cos we know Oasis", guessing that Lana was going to see them perform there And in Video Games it took me forever to find out that the lyric isn't "Open up a beer and you take it over here and play your video games."

So excited now it's September! Love the Nylon covers, reminiscent of the H&M photographs for sure. Earlier today I was sorting out my nail polishes and my 12 year old sister was reading the names of them, she read out 'Peach Melba' and said "that sounds like a Lana song." -
Gutted I couldn't get tickets to see her in London next month, really excited for her Live Lounge though, loved her past ones.
-
This Side of Paradise - perfect for September reading.

Slightly off topic but has anyone smelt this? Wondering if it's nice, I love Jimmy Choo's eponymous perfume
-
Saw Sky is on the cover of InStyle's September issue, rare to see her face in the UK Will pick it up and have a read when I can, she looks beautiful on the cover.

This artwork is so beautiful, wish it was the album cover The song has grown on me, I think I was underwhelmed initially because it wasn't jazz as described but after a few listens I think the song gets more beautiful as it goes on, very sad song.
