I think my biggest hope for LDR5 is that it's a fun record. I haven't felt a lot of whimsy or fun in Lana's work since BtD, honestly, which is okay-- Paradise, UV, and HM are all very rich, beautiful, but pretty serious albums, whereas Born to Die had a lot of playfulness and flirtatiousness that made it very exciting, even in tracks like NA and Blue Jeans. So did AKA, and a lot of the unreleased. I'm not saying she needs to put out a purely pop, dance-y record, but I would like a return to some excitement and attitude in her sound, which seems like the direction LDR5 could be going in, judging by certain *winks* and some of her insta vids.

Since pop Lana is dead and buried I'd love something between Wayamaya, Mermaid Motel, Salvatore, Off To The Races, Brooklyn Baby, Sad Girl, Caught You Boy and Elvis, I think it would be interesting to explore the mix between the UV and AKA aesthetics but with the maturity of Honeymoon and maybe even the energy of Born To Die

And it's interesting that yall want a MTWBT sound because she said it was her favourite of the record (I know she also said it was Terrence but she a lying hoe) - sorry I don't remember in which interview but I distinctively remember she said it. Personally I love the melody a lot but I think the album version lacks something, and precisely, the soft rock remix by the good sis @urbannoize pinpoints exactly the little but so important thing it lacked. It's just incredible how much such a small change can transform the song, I replayed the remix a thousand times it's so good. And actually that's very interesting, because it's exactly how I would picture an Honeymoon sound but happier/boppier and with 70' vibes... Like very lowkey, super mega chill, but still with a beat underneath and Honeymoon vibes. Like an evolution from Honeymoon but with a different, stronger and - let's get crazy - happier and more fun mindset. Anyway that's what Lana said herself a year ago, like that LDR5 would deal with kind of the same aesthetic but in a different direction, and maybe the "clarity of inner dialogue" she's talking about means like clearer sounds and so stronger beats? Idk I'm wildly hypothetising because to this point I'm transforming each day a bit more into the Sahara

2 things i could really settle for are 1. an 80s album where everything sounds like bbm baby 2. a kinda lofi beachy surf album where everything sounds like wayamaya
 
i mean regardless of what she releases its gonna be good so i dont care, i just really love those concepts

I really want the new album to sound like wayamaya or the fake snippet of morricone but im 99% sure that it wont

I'd love a really dark concept album shot by Steven Klein with Solve Et Coagula as the title. I think it would fit perfectly the theme.

I do think the visuals for this era will be more faded. I definitely think she'll explore the 70s vibe, kinda sex-funk maybe? I listen to a lot of 60s/70s music so there's many sub-genres she could explore from that time. I hope there are tambourines involved. I'm hoping she covers 'California Dreamin' by the Mamas & Papas too
 
I hope Neil is involved in her new album, I admire his work. It's very. Ethereal and dreamy. I do like Chuck's work too but I prefer Neil.

A 70s flowerpower hippie post-summer of love distorted colours era is EXACTLY what I need from Lana
 
In terms of music, I want her to be exploring something new in terms of direction, psychedelic and drowned out with layer upon layers of instrumentation and vocals.
 
And if she had some surf-rock elements, like Kill Kill, this album could top UV wishful thinking though, and frankly I wouldn't want her to do the whole 2.0 thing

I love Baghdad by the Bay (feat. Katy Perry). The song reminds me of the glamour of the seaside, the lyrics sounds gorgerous coming off the tip of the tongue

Can we talk about the aesthetic? 70's vibe, daisies... Someone pointed out that the last video from UV was kind of a hint for Honeymoon already. Assuming she possibly did the same thing with HM era and Freak video was very hippie... Is her hippie era finally coming? Playing John Lennon on instagram could have been another hint?

Okay so I made a previous thread asking you guys to make a fanmade album cover for LDR5, so now I want to see what you
come up with for Lana's single 'Young and in Love. I feel like since we have a legit name, it'll be easier to interpret an aesthetic/vibe.
This isn't a competition, purely just for fun. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
My own picture is below. I've mentioned on a few threads that I think the single will be 70's vibe, hence the font, daisies and grain effect.

My meltdown when I saw how PERFECT she looked I'll never forget

Hey guys! Here's a project I've been working on for a couple of months now and it's half way through, the only thing left yet it's to complete the booklet.
It's an EP I called "Dark Sunshine" that I can envision as the transition between the Born to Die era and the Ultraviolence one.


Features various songs recorded or released "un/officially" during 2013 except Young and Beautiful.
This is a concept I created, but in case you'd like to make the EP on your iTunes library I post the Cover art.






















With the release of my fan made EP I decided to post my Edit for Yöur Girl. In case you don't have it. I tried to make it as great as possible with the snippets available.
No tea no shade but I think the other ones out there are have really rough cuts and the songs doesn't feel like it's supposed to be, but more like it's just copied and pasted fragments without an order.
I'm not trying to offend anyone so don't take my comment too personal. With all of that said I hope you guy enjoy it!
