I think this is about drugs. Flying high, plus we all know Lana writes about the subject a lot. Plus meth has been called pilot salt.

I think its "I never loved somebody so much older"

I would like to hear her do something with David Lynch. It's been said before that her stuff is kinda like his movies and it would be interesting to see what they do together.

I hear But you are unfixable, I can’t break through your world. ‘Cause you live in shades of cool, Your heart is unbreakable.

1949! It's such a nymphet song, plus her voice with the guitar always sounds cute to me.
-
Her voice is so fucking beautiful in this song.

"I thought you wanted a real girl, baby" reference to Noir?

I was reading A Clockwork Orange and the writer used cancer instead of cigarettes and I thought it made sense.
-
I always thought it was "light me up that cancer" referring to cigarettes as cancer.

Oh dear! I just heard it, I've been waiting for that demo forever, these snippets are killing me!

Hit me and it felt like a kiss This totally comes from The Crystals song He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss) which I love. I'm so glad she made this reference.

Unreleased songs you want Lana to rework/release
firecracker replied to Hundred Dollar Bill's topic in Lana Thoughts
To be honest, with most of her songs, I would never want her to rework them (with the exception of the songs that we only have horrible recordings of.) I felt like Yayo was so perfect before and, in my opinion, the paradise edition ruined it. I feel like her songs like Pawn Shop Blues, Mermaid Motel, Trash Magic, ect. are so beautiful because of they way they were recorded and the emotional connections she had at the time. If she reworked some of her older songs, I feel like she would change them too much, and then the original feel would be lost. -
Lana's drug use/trailer park era
firecracker replied to HeartshapedChevrolet's topic in Lana Thoughts
Normally, people don't say "getting clean" about drinking, and if I remember correctly, the youtube comment was in response to someone talking about their experience with meth. Also, she said she hadn't had a drink for 10 years (something like that, I can't remember exactly) so she wouldn't be drinking in her trailer park days. -
Lana's drug use/trailer park era
firecracker replied to HeartshapedChevrolet's topic in Lana Thoughts
She said she stopped drinking at 18. My opinion, is that she started experimenting and did her hard core drug use when she was younger, in Carmen she says "only 17 but she walks the streets so mean" and boarding school "I'm in the back doing crack", and then after she figured out what she liked. I personally think she was never broke, even in the trailer park, especially because that was when her boyfriend started getting famous. I feel like most of the whole being broke stuff, was an experience thing, she wanted to know what it felt like to live in a trailer park and be a gogo dancer, but she knew she could always go back to her father if she needed to. I think she was doing drug in her trailer park days because of her weight, you can definitely tell in the pictures that she had lost a lot of weight then. Probably mostly cocaine and meth, but you can't tell for sure which one. -

Not sure if these are from the trailer park, but it looks like they are from when she was using drugs. The last one is my favorite. -
Do you drink more Diet Mt. Dew and Pepsi?
firecracker replied to PennCentralFan's topic in Lana Thoughts
I usually don't drink pop, but I wish they had Diet Mountain Dew where I live just so I could try it! As far as Pepsi, I really can't tell the difference between it and Coke, but I really don't care for either. But I do LOVE Cherry Cola. They only sell it at a retro candy shop that is quite far, but I always go to get one when I am near. I always feel so Lana-Del-Rey-like when I drink it -
I absolutely HATE the Paradise Edition of Yayo. I think it's her worst song yet.

Oooops, I didn't know that I better keep up to date better.
