YUNGKALIMXEL 88 Posted August 15, 2013 So, I'm a fan that's just starting out. I know all the singles, but the non-single tracks I'm not familiar with (and when I get Born To Die - Paradise Edition I will go on to the May Jailer/Lizzy Grant stuff). But can you please educate me and give me some songs to get into? Or just something! Educate me in all things Elizabeth Grant please!
YUNGKALIMXEL 88 Posted August 15, 2013 I know I'm REAALLYY late BTW! I've known about her since Video Games came out! I just didn't indulge in her. I've definitely been aware of her and thought she's cool. On GGD everyone talks about her and then So Legit happened and then the SS remix and yeah I just became obsessed It was the same with Slayzealia, I knew about her since 212 and I knew about Van Vogue and Liquorice, but I didn't indulge in her greatness until this year

YUNGKALIMXEL 88 Posted August 15, 2013 Get reading these forums, anything (that we've found out through stalking) there is to know is here! That is helping LOL! I wish I was addicted to Lana back then so I could stan for her when her album was out Still, when I get back to school I'll stan for the SS remix! Well when I'm not singing Applause & Aura And hopefully ATM JAM

Just download Born To Die & Paradise and start with that, I guess? I don't know, just listen to the whole thing and see what you think of it, then move on to the other albums & unreleased songs, I'd say.
Creyk 11,699 Posted August 15, 2013 Very strong unreleased songs you want to hear: Backfire Serial Killer Never Let Me Go Back To The Basics Queen Of Disaster These songs are like, so so great. Also, just take the time to explore her live performances if you want to, when you find on the clicks it's fantastic.
YUNGKALIMXEL 88 Posted August 15, 2013 Im watching her live performances and interviews. But I'm only getting the physical copy of her albums, I don't do downloads!

Hello Heaven 1,578 Posted August 15, 2013 I know how you feel, luckily I've been following Lana since 2011 but with most artists, I hear about them at the beginning of their career but never give them a chance until later You shouldn't have a problem on this forum though, once you're familiar with most of her songs and know the basics about her, you should find it pretty easy and you'll soon be up to date. We never miss an opportunity to stalk her.

PrettyBaby 2,220 Posted August 15, 2013 Probably the Media section on LanaBoards is a good place to start. Within that section are Photos, Video and Audio. Check out the pinned topics for threads that are particularly informative; for example, a list of all the songs that have leaked is here: http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/447-leaked-songs-list-information/ After you collect the songs you want (all of them), if you want cover art you can look in the Fan Art section. If you need help organizing all those songs, and want to see how other people do it, these threads may give you some ideas (and if you see a song popping up on several playlists, that's probably a good sign that it's worth trying): http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/795-your-favorite-lana-playlists/ http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/940-post-your-lana-itunes-library/ http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/3384-mixed-tapes/ And if you enjoy idle speculation discussing song meanings and how they might relate to Lana's life, don't miss: http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/473-lanalysis-relating-songs-to-knownassumed-relationships/ Welcome to the madness that is the Lana Del Rey fandom!
YUNGKALIMXEL 88 Posted August 16, 2013 Trayertrash just sent me loads of downloads so I think I've got all the leaked stuff and I don't need to scavenge for it But I will check those threads. Sitar 22,213 Posted August 16, 2013 Ooh so Lana covers loads of genres effortlessly and everyone can find something to like in my opinion. I'll list some because YouTube pitches nearly all her videos. Best sadcore - Without You - Yayo - I Don't Wanna Go Best upbeat pop - Driving in Cars With Boys - Butterflies Part 2 - Gogo Dancer - Every Man Has His Wish - Kinda Outta Luck Best rock - Raise Me Up - Velvet Crowbar - Tired of Singing the Blues Best hip-hop: - Off to the Races - Ridin' (with A$AP Rocky) - Dum Dum (kinda?) Best alternative: - Mermaid Motel - Golden Grill - Kill Kill Best acoustic: - Pawn Shop Blues - Get Drunk - Your Band is All the Rage Go nuts.
PrettyBaby 2,220 Posted August 16, 2013 Do you think I should listen to Lana Del Rey before Lana Del Ray and May Jailer? It's hard to say. I first listened to whatever was on YouTube at the time (mix of LDR and Lizzy Grant), then Born to Die, then Lana Del Ray aka Lizzy Grant, then Sirens, etc... I tend to prefer Lizzy Grant unreleased, but AKA has the best collection of songs ever, but if you really like pop then BTD might be the place to start... Heck, just support the artist and go buy Born to Die:The Paradise Edition
laiadelrey 12 Posted October 31, 2013 You could spend one/two/three afternoons or some hours listening to all her songs. You should look up for all her songs, there are some fanmade-alphabetical lists that will go very well on listening to all leaks/unreleased music.
