melpomene 1,922 Posted September 11, 2019 Next Level Charli - it is Big Bratt by AG and Charli is rapping in the same way on the original track and her vocal is reminding me of the way she says “Bad boy make a bad girl” in Blame It On U from N1A Click - The snippet I was sent was very tame in that it’s Charli just low key spitting on top of a plodding beat like from the snippet from her IG story. I Don’t Wanna Know - I’m not sure what to say about this snippet but it’s exactly like Charli said. Autotune reciting and a synth-y beat. White Mercedes - Drums on the chorus and it’s a guitar riff on the verse. Silver Cross - I kind of got True Romance vibes from this snippet in a ILY2 way. Lyrics are: I’ll never you let you go! You know! Head on my chest! A silver cross! Official - The slowest song on the record. Kick Drum and I think it’s an organ like Synth? Shake It - I was really surprised with the snippet because I was expected a banger from the get go but we hear a breathy auto tune pant from Charli and then Big Freedia comes on with this nuts EDM rapid bounce beat.

Veinsineon 76,897 Posted September 11, 2019 Literally the duality of that photo and the pop 2 cover... WOW! Also imagine beginning the album with the 1999 EASYFUN remix and ending it with 2099

KillForLove 13,361 Posted September 11, 2019 Even the dumb and dumber twins’ terrible makeup couldn’t stop Hannah’s immaculate editing. Ugh, her mind!

nuclear angel 2,471 Posted September 11, 2019 “Silver Cross” is about a rush of self-destructive passion (“Feel like I would jump off buildings for you”). My favorite is the plinking and sweet “Official,” where she settles down into a relationship long enough to trust the other person: “You know the words to my mistakes, you understand because you made them too.” https://www.stereogum.com/2056414/charli-xcx-charli-review/franchises/premature-evaluation/

Stereogum is no doubt my favorite music magazine If, as Charli put it, she was truly “born in the wrong era,” then thankfully at least she’s here with us, figuring it out together.
faceshopping 1,380 Posted September 11, 2019 That review is really good. I feel like that's one of the first reviews so far where they understand her and her music so can therefore understand the music/message/lyrics/production better. That review has made me really hyped
