It's just kind of bothersome how much she's changed, and I can't tell now if she was as genuine during True Romance as I thought she was... Now she's saying she was &quot;trying to be cool&quot; back then, but I always thought it was a pretty good representation of her and all her feelings at the time.. And if she's going to talk about &quot;trying to hard&quot;, why is she singing about not going to school and working with stargate... It's very opposite to her original message.<br />

edit: Before my haters jump in: I get it... This is negative... I still love Charli, it's just some food for thought that watching her old interviews led me to.<br />

Toward the begining of the interview when she describes the new album, I'm really feeling it... This is from the end of last year but I'm hoping the sexuality, anger, and passion she describes are still on the album.<br />

I think the main issue is that so far we haven't heard anything sexy, angry, or passionate... BTR maybe has some light-hearted anger and Boom Clap is a kind of passionate... but not RED passion.</p>

I know Charli hates being called synthpop or goth pop or whatever but those amazing emotional lyrics mixed with the synth (????idk how to describe it) THATS what made me fall in love with Charli... Now her new music is like all other mainstream pop .... it seems like her label or something is forcing her to make music that isnt really HER. (Judging from BTR) I still love Charli and I will love anything she releases but .... i dont know

 

I still have hope for Sucker. Break the rules is just not what I was looking for for a lead single, or whatever it is........ Hopefully it is the Stargate song and we can move on from this i dont want to go to school bullshit

I'm almost certain it is because everyone keeps saying this sounds kind of live avicci and she herself described the song she did with Stargate as having a buildup and sounding like avicci where you think it will have a big dance breakdown and then it's totally "not what you expect" or something.

I hate the thought of insiders BUT there's a user on GGD who posted the release date of BTR and the album title way before that was public knowledge

I believe it. At least about the album cover, after all it is on the official preorder and when you buy the songs its the album cover they use. Is itunes really going to change it to the official album cover once its revealed? The BTR release date being a little after the VMAs is just common sense and he'll probably be right. (Actually both of those are kind of common sense/easy to guess at but...)

 

The album cover's not THAT bad (tbh it would be better if the background weren't that pink color I think, and if the font for "Charli xcx" was different) but I don't even know where it came from. I never saw her post it and be like "hey guys this is the album cover!" or even acknowledge it...

Idk y'all I remember MØ had a placeholder cover that looked professional and everything, like it wasn't just a single cover like most placeholders, but it eventually changed.

I think this is possible, especially because she never posted the cover or said it's official, and when you want to be a pop star, you usually want your face on the cover...

 

I don't want to get my hopes up though, that way if this is the official album cover, I will have already accepted it and been okay with it. Getting my hopes up this era seems to bring nothing but disappointment so far.

Meh if she weren't famous maybe... But people go to her blog to see pictures of her anyway. Her fans post them all over, why wouldn't she reblog some of the ones she likes? Maybe she just likes certain photos of herself. I didn't really see it as narcissistic. Tbh as hot as she is Charli never struck me as an artist who cares what people think about how she looks.
