Mafiosa 1,089 Posted September 28, 2015 I think I really appreciate UV more because of its rock-oriented sound and the much deeper, more emotional and crazy feel of it all. The record feels like you're going on such a journey, it's full of self-conflict and contradiction, vulnerability and fleeting moments of power and strength. The lyrics are from a special and dark part of Lana's mind. I feel like it was a true breakthrough album as far as sound and instrumentation goes. It's a much more relatable and coherent piece of work that drew on a really amazing and broad range of inspirations - soft grunge, psychedelia and jazz.
