She never really had a distinct, consistent sonic niche to begin with, so it's not surprising to see her add yet another new sound to her repertoire. (I would argue that Hotter Than Hell, albeit a damn fine song, better qualifies as trend- or hit-chasing than this track.) And booting the weaker, less popular singles to an all-inclusive deluxe edition was smart. After all of this time of waiting, most people are just going to want new material from her, which the standard version will provide them.
