FIREANDWATER 81 Posted August 14, 2013 GUYS. I THINK I FIGURED OUT THE SONG SHE SAMPLES IN METHAMPHETAMINES. It's "Return to Sender" by Elvis, I swear to fucking god. Omg. This totally fucking makes an impact on the lyrics. Lana's done it again. I don't know if it really changes what I take from the song. I think any Elvis song would have the same effect. 1 Quote let's change our DNA

James19709 638 Posted August 21, 2013 I was thinking the same thing! I was thinking back on my reflection of the song, and was considering that maybe, she's alluding to another Elvis song from the '50s, or even an entirely different artist, and "Return to Sender," considering the lyrics and how it's a '60s song, maybe it'd represent the then-and-now factor of the relationship, things changed, the relationship was near its end. Or maybe, she felt more in Elvis' position; trying to salvage the relationship but there was nothing left at that point... I don't know. iamalittletoastedtbh Again? Jazzmin 302 Posted October 14, 2013 @ Sounds more like "sway" to me. But I am not an English native speaker (listener?). I've just listened to this song a moment ago and the way she sings it is unbelievable 0 Quote And the wind I know it’s cold
lflflflflflflflflflf 3,722 Posted October 14, 2013 So, updated lyrics? Methamphetamines, pink flamingo. Blue fifties queen. Blue oyster clove. For the big dream why don't we go to Coney Island? "No such person"* One day among the ballad sung The record spins blue fifties song The veranda looks Ocean Grove Neon palm sway. What's happening? Where did we go? The Jersey Shore was long ago As with our hopes and ocean Grove And so I bid you farewell. *Elvis Presley, Return To Sender (1962)
Greenwich 1,052 Posted June 14, 2014 I'd like to say it is Blue Oyster Cult because of that interview with the sect/cult shenanigans sounds like gloaf?? - i was playing this on piano for my friend, shes like "thats from romeo and juliet right?" apparently lana took the melody from this; because the notes are exact D F E A C etc

Greenwich 1,052 Posted June 14, 2014 okay okay, last post but since im obsessing with this song (and have been for weeks) I honestly think it's simply "Blue, oyster, clove" terms for drugs(the song is called meth derp) but COMMAS because different name -end- From "Drug Slang Dictionary" blue boy - Amphetamineblue devils - Methamphetamineblue ice - Methamphetamine blue meth - Methamphetamineblue mollies - Amphetamine oyster stew - Cocaine can't find anything on clove/glove though?

Wryta Thinkpiece 3,344 Posted July 17, 2014 I almost fell the fuck apart when she namedropped Methamphetamines in the audio commentary of Old Money. So fucking glad to hear her acknowledge one of her best unreleased songs.
