Official 2nd Single - Ultraviolence (Release August 18th)

Monday 18th August sees the release of 'Ultraviolence' the second single and title track from Lana Del Rey's most successful and critically acclaimed album to date. The album debuted at #1 in 18 countries, including the U.K and the U.S, and in the Top 5 of 10 other countries, selling over 1million copies worldwide so far. 'ULTRAVIOLENCE' is her second U.K #1 following 'BORN TO DIE' in 2012.

Written by Lana and long-time collaborator Dan Heath 'Ultraviolence' was produced by Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and recorded in Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville.

no radio release, no promo, just the MV and she said that she did it because she wanted to give us a video before the UV one.

Wasn't SoC a promotional single? I think this is just saying that Ultraviolence will be the second 'proper' single.

Now that there's not really such a thing as physical singles any more, and you can buy songs individually on iTunes, I don't understand the difference between a promo single and a 'real' single. Will there be a separate release with extra bonus songs?

YAWN. this better have a cool video, at least. something to give us insight into her supposed cult years? i just really wish she wasn't releasing this song cos of "he hit me and it felt like a kiss." i'm anticipating some backlash.

It's certainly the most immediate and radio-friendly. I can't see anything else on UV being as commercially successful as Ultraviolence. It's personally my favorite song aside from Sad Girl. I'm thrilled    and I can't wait for the vid!
