Stuff like this is why she'll eventually just stop touring altogether. Doesn't mean she won't release music, but to hell with touring if you have to constantly dodge stalker and creeps.

Funny enough I noticed someone commented on Youtube that Mariners Apartment Complex was like Wicked Game + Breath(2AM) mashup.
BTW, 'hope is a dangerous thing...' is more Wicked Game vibe.

You know what I noticed about Mariners Apartment Complex the most? A mellotron(at least sounds like it, probably an emulator) on a pop record in 2018. Mind blown.

Just the way she starts the song with the piano, mellotron and harpsichord, then the opening lyric - 'you took my sadness out of context at the Mariners apartment complex, I aint no candle in the wind'... Damnit... if that doesn't say Songwriter of the Generation I don't know what does.

Is there a single song on the new album that is as good as 'Royals' or 'Yellow Flicker Beat'? Honestly I think Lorde has lost the plot, suddenly making generic sounding pop music.

The in-crowd despire Lana because she truly "marches to her own drummer" and it isn't anything THEY approve of. She truly represents outsiders, the misfit, the others. I hope she never sells out.

I disagree. I don't think she was ever comfortable in the rock idiom. She's a jazz artist at heart.
