Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

SO happy with the cover omg Honestly idk what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting THAT!! Chuck's magnum opus!! This really feels like a turning point in her discography (even though imo it was perfect already) And even though the cover is different to the previous albums, it still flows really well - NFR is now another phase in the journey, where she has travelled across America and now has to leave to a new land, and she is taking us with her!! -
imo FROOT is deffo her best work, there is something about it that is just.... I literally can't describe it, like EVERY song is perfect to me and although the videos are quite simple, there is something about the FROOT and Neon Nature aesthetic that I love. Idk, it just feels like I am home when I listen to FROOT But yeah, all of Marina's albums are phenomenal in their own right! They all have something unique to offer which other albums can't match up to!

Your grandma becomes an ally, and then starts stanning all the same artists you do. She then becomes well known and loved, which means that artists always go to see her after their concerts, which means you don't get a chance to meet or see your favourite artists. I wish capitalism didn't exist

Describe the Member Above You as a Lana Persona
californianfreak replied to dead account's topic in Games
I hope I am doing this right, but I would say you are the iconic noir!! I'm very strong minded and passionate about certain topics, which can sometimes cause me to be isolated. I also can be quite emotionally unstable, but am working hard to get round this! -
Everyone in the world starts listening to rock songs, but all stomp their feet to the beat so hard that the Earth's crust cracks and molten lava burns everything in sight and all species become extinct I wish this summer could last forever (not including the boiling temperatures)

I am glad we can move past this, nothing but respect for you I also agree with what you have said here too! I guess it can be easy to misinterpret things online! -

I am sorry if that is what I implied, I did not mean to imply that you specifically have called her an idiot, it is just an observation that I have picked up generally across the forum recently. I think you are a brilliant member here and the last thing I want to do is pick a fight with you. I am just saying that as we don't know the full circumstances, maybe we should not be so harsh as it does not do ourselves any good. If I can use one of my own examples to show what I mean, I went through a really rough patch with a very close friend of mine - I was constantly thinking of all the negative things they were doing and assuming their reasons and intentions for things were negative. Turns out, I was pretty off the mark and by thinking so negatively about them all the time, I got myself in a downward spiral where literally everything they did, I interpreted as negative. I then tried to put a more positive spin on things, and it really helped a lot. Again, I am not saying to ignore her mistakes or justify them, just not to tear her to shreds on a regular basis. -

I hear what you are saying, but I think as we don't know exactly why there have been broken promises and miscommunications, it would not be right of us to say it is down to Lana being an idiot/annoying/whatever you guys wanna call it. Sure, it may be solely her holding things up, but she is probably doing this for a reason and did not want to tell us more details once she realised how upset we got when she couldn't keep her previous promises. Maybe Ben and Ed told her to not say anything about the album until they knew what was happening, and now it seems she does know what is happening so has shared it with us - but she still gets hate. It's like whatever she does, she can't win. I think it is just important to remember that no matter how much analysis we do, we really don't know for sure what is going on behind the scenes, and it may not be fair of us to make negative judgements on Lana when we don't know the full circumstances. But anyway, I hear you, I also keep grudges -

YAS!!! ALBOOM IN AUGUST!!! I know I may get some hate for this, but like can we go back to being positive about Lana now? I think it is brilliant that we all don't put her on a pedestal, but recently I feel there has been a very negative atmosphere which is not helpful for anyone - we automatically assume that anything she does or doesn't do has negative intentions behind it, which may very well not be the case. Obviously that doesn't mean ignoring/justifying behaviour that is bad, or not expressing our opinions, but like... can we be just a little bit more positive now rather than constantly bashing her? -
I think I may have to stan after that video???
-
asdfghjkl I just thought this was @@salvatore shitposting, and I thought 'nahhhh these lyrics are too cliched to be real'. Yet, here we are! Anyway, now I have heard the snippet, I love it! Lana hasn't teased like this in a while, so maybe we will be going into actual pre-release era soon??

I completely agree with this post, but I also think it is important to take a step back. Just because churches turn a blind eye to these atrocities, doesn't mean Lana shares the same views. -

Not really sure what you are trying to say with this reply, but my points still stand that: 1. Lana is very unlikely to be homophobic 2. There is no reason to think that your friends would be going to a controversial church, so you would not think to google it. 3. We all know Lana is not a baby, I get the point you are trying to make, but I think she is a lot deeper than that. Even if she has been lost lately, we still have no actual evidence to judge her like this and bash her so hard. Anyway, I would like to make it clear that I am not trying to get into an argument with anyone here, I am just trying to show you guys how this thinking may not be completely justified, and it may be making things worse than they need to be.
