i really only like a couple of songs from sirens, but: "her vocals are often weak and shaky," is pretty much the opposite of my impression of the album. i think her voice sounds amazing and raw on the album. 

i always associated it with him because 1) he seems like the tortured artist type, and 2) lana dyed her hair dark before the song leaked. 

i have to agree with you...a lot of this is reaching.

TiWMUG highlights the fact that women put men first cos we're socialized to think finding love and a man is the ultimate goal. "it's a curse"--not something to be proud of like you seem to be.

the bridge of "break my fall" . angry/sassy/jilted lana songs are in the minority and they are some of my favorites.

lol not going to derail this thread w/that debate but bdsm is literally fetishizing abuse. what do you call getting off to hurting someone else/getting hurt yourself? yes there is "consent" but it doesn't change the fact that harm is being done. & please don't tell me i don't know what i'm talking about bcos i used to be a huge bdsm supporter, so.
 
i love lana's music and all but i don't have to agree with everything she sings about. 

if ultraviolence turns out to be about BDSM, i'll set my stan card on fire. fetishizing abuse is terrible & the reason i don't listen to songs like 'push me down' or 'beautiful player' anymore. ugh. i was hoping she'd moved past that ('don't treat me rough, treat me really nice'). we'll see.

why are you even in this thread? do you know that you can get addicted to virtually anything in this world? (shopping, eating, etc.) at least with pot if you stop you don't go through horrible withdrawal symptoms. get off your high horse.
