  1. Yes! She would do that even more in the BTD/Paradise era on tour. She really did let her vocals flow freely and wild. She even made wailing sound as talented and sophisticated opera. That's why my favourite albums are UV and Honeymoon cause they definitely got bits and pieces of those vocals (free and sophisticated). There were big changes in her studio vocals between then and LFL, and again for NFR. I wish a professional in vocal coaching or something would analyse it cause I don't know the right terminology.
  2. She used to balance the high and low SO well, and that's what I want back. Like what she did in OTTR, Ride, Carmen, 24, honeymoon, and plenty more. imo, It's like now she sings in a register that allows her to sing it live while zoning out and not putting actual effort in. Sometimes I think she barely put in any effort when recording the studio version too. That's why I still wanna hear Yosemite so bad because she actually said it was challenging for her.
  3. It's sweet and I love her vocals from this era, absolutely all of them, so I'll always want more. However, in my opinion the song wasn't worth all the years of hype. I'm so glad we finally got it, as I wanted to hear it ever since the trailer and years before I discovered this site and saw everyone else wanted the song so bad too. But the song is obviously not up to her usual standard, even for back then, because it had the constraints of being for a movie, so now I listen to it more like an interlude than a full song. And it also doesn't fit in with any of her other songs, like how usually a song leaks and we can immediately pair it up with a number of her other songs. I always thought it was gonna be a short 1:30 song so now that it's full length it feels repetitive but it's okay. And I can't believe we got the early mix. That's honestly the best surprise!
  4. This is so pure It reminds me of American and The Lucky Ones
  5. Tbh I only found about about them recently bc poppy covered them, but I love them and can't wait to hear more. Any specific song reccomendations are welcome of course <3

The whole album was Michael Keenan + Melanie. One Love also helped with Drama Club but I'm assuming that's cause it was one of the older songs?

Totally agree. I'm not sure if it was Mel's decision to have K-12 sound so samey and "stripped back" if that's what I can call it, in comparison to CB tracks. But Pacify Her has such a beautiful softness to it, as well as being rather daring, quirky and bold and just a straight up BOP. So either it was him who lost his creativity (in my opinion) or Mel who actually decided she wanted the album to sound less complex.
  8. Marry IDWG Fuck 24 (cause c'mon) Kill Cherry Blossom Flipside American Born to Die
  9. Totally agree. I've always through love and lfl could have been cut completely to make a shorter album too, but they would go well near Groupie Love.
  10. Last time I saw her smoke was onstage in late March 2018
  11. white cocc forever I regret everything
  12. You're right, we only know he's a shady bigot in public
  13. Maybe she posted the videos because Sean, a cop, was filming while driving and that is illegal
  14. Welcome to 666 pages. Now let's continue the hell.
  15. Yeah true maybe she knows this will piss him off the most. I hope
  16. It's a different shirt to the Violet announcement but the same shirt as her "Apology" video and COCC announcement. If it was indeed the same day and not more recent, well that's.... Not gonna be received well lol
  17. So white hot forever always was about sean, ok...
  18. I just checked in with the stats after quite a while and I'm so shook. In Australia we are well into a second wave which came so fast. Where I live there is not much active but there's a high chance it will be soon. People are starting to give up following isolation and social distancing.... I wouldn't have a problem doing it again tho, despite not wanting work at home again.
  19. I think that barely half the album was deeply personal to her while the rest was directed outwards, with some songs not even about her at all, and that's why it feels like it went in 2 different directions, but I guess the diversity does make it refreshing and special, and definitely stands out
  20. Which Unreleased song feels like your guilty pleasure? Mine is Hit & Run I don't know why I love it so much but it sounds so early 2000s, and kinda Lady Gagaish and reminds me of the time I discovered it in my final year of high school and I would listen to it and pretend I was not a model student and in fact a crazy bombshell who drives round town
  21. I like all of them a lot, but on more listens I think I relate to WTF so much that it has to be my favourite.

The underproduced last chorus is so true and it really does diminish what the song could have been. Not to mention the principal doesn't even have a last chorus. In the cinema when the principal ended, multiple people where like "what???" out loud. Lol. Charli gives so much with fan interaction, but I know Melanie would never do that because she's a perfectionist and will always take total control over her work, no suggestions whatsoever, unless, like you said about the production, it's from the producer And yes it absolutely is one of the best albums of 2019. I've revisited it the more than I've revisited NFR. But the potential in each song just kinda dissappeared halfway through each. She might have thought the production was her best because it sounded clean (except Nurses office, let's not go there) but SO clean that it was empty.
  23. Happy 3rd birthday LUST FOR LIFE! You came to me at a great time in my life and every time I listen, I am reminded of that, and it really was an amazing turning point for me. On my Instagram, I keep getting "3 years ago today" reminders, and they are all photos of the road trip I went on and when I got to listen to the album snippets, the leak and the full album for the first time while driving through beautiful mountains in winter. Besides the messy release, different fan expectations and the absolutely chaotic pre-release thread, I was shook listening to most of the songs the first time. I was so happy and it made me feel so free. In fact, out of all the albums, I definitely had the best "first listening experience" with this one, whereas the others I had to absorb more slowly. It mightn't be my favourite, but I really enjoy coming back to this album from time to time. And today, that is definitely true.
