Wow this is much more interesting, but it doesn't really sound like a Melanie song
  2. Thing is, many many people DO feel that NFR is the most imaginative, perfectly produced out of her whole discography and I can't handle it . Even LFL had more colour, in fact it's a very colourful album tbh. I just want a new era already. I don't want more answers from this one cause none have satisfied me,
  3. I'm only gonna be replaying 3am, More, Still Learning and Ashley. I'm already over Graveyard. I knew she'd do even better.
  4. I haven't forgotten. I'm still haunted by what he says at 1:24 onwards I will hear no more from him.

It was her second album so after the flawlessness that was Crybaby + music videos, and the Dollhouse EP, I sorta had expectations. What's there to not understand lol? I paid for the movie, I stream the album maybe weekly? We are allowed to have some opinions. Great album + good visuals does not = good story or plot, as you just said. So why can't we just have a conversation about it?

I agree. And songs often had a zero notice lead up, or the lead up was like one sentence (The Principal and Drama Club) making it kind of even more cringy than a primary school play. Was that her intention? Lol. I think about what could have made this era work for me. Maybe if we got the songs as separate music videos. And they wouldn't even have to be in order. Crybabys werent in order yet they make a great marathon after Mad Hatter finally came out. Released that way, she would have had more room to lead in each song, and lead them out in some cases, without having to make cuts for the movie. Idk, but I think that's what makes Crybaby better to marathon rather than K-12 as a random af movie. Hypothetically, after the k12 music videos all came out, with each making more sense, she could have 'released' them all as a marathon on YouTube and then BAM, a movie that works.

I think Crybaby already had what she was aiming for. Crybaby already plays exactly like a movie with many more key moments than K-12, in fact every CB song is a key movie moment except for like maybe Soap and Training Wheels. K-12 feels like many fillers with 3 or 4 key movie moments. what do you think?

So, do you think you would have enjoyed K-12 more as the movie it was, or as an album with music videos and extended period of release?
  9. I can't believe it! For once I actually have all the same opinions as Ajay on an album. I agree with the skip songs, and all the good parts she praises
  10. It really helped making a collage of my favourite albums, cause when you can SEE them, you can easily spot something missing. The Birthday Massacre - Pins and Needles Lana Del Rey - Honeymoon Linkin Park - Living Things Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence Bring Me The Horizon - Amo Evanescence - The Open Door Trees of Eternity - Hour of the Nightingale Lana Del Rey - Born to Die (The Paradise Edition) Nostalghia - Imago Twenty One Pilots - Blurryface
  11. I can tell this album is really important to her. in Ashley I like her vocals, and Without Me obviously. 3am is a fucking HIT and should have been a single. More and Still Learning are great too. Very HFK reminiscent. Would be great single material too. Not that that is what depicts a good album, but she definitely knows how to come through. However I don't like the interludes. They take me away from the album. I will always skip them. Right now I can't decide between HFK and Manic. HFK had some heart wrenching songs that felt more powerful. Badlands still tops. I miss her Badlands style where every instrumental really lead the song and even lead the lyrics. HFK had a few songs like that but most of her songs are now just bright vocals with additional music to fill in, or she at least thinks her songs like that are her best so I think her choice of singles has been pretty poor this era.
  12. So are her girlies gonna be slut-dropping to Bartender or can they let Lana have the stage for the whole show for once?
  13. I got this one too haha. Besides the existential crisis part, it's true that I can romanticize the past, even the bad parts lately
  14. I didn't even know her and yungblud were over? But anyway. I don't like the new song, but kinda cool video... I guess...seems she's just trying to make a point, to more than just G-eazy, and I don't get it. Hoping for some more chill upbeat stuff like Graveyard on the album. Beautiful stranger I think is still good, but I haven't listened more than a few times.
  15. Watch Joker last night. I liked it. Can't say I love it so much ill watch it again. It's a slow burn movie. But I think it really is a work of art and everyone should definitely watch it, especially those who pass it off as a 'political' movie that got critics angry. It's far more than that.

Love the album. She does sound like Grimes in a lot of songs though. Wonder what's up between them currently. On the whole album I particularly love I Disagree, Bloodmoney and Don't Go Outside (which is legendary) I can hear Pink Floyd influence And like every other legendary band
  17. She's the only one smiling in the photo Hope this psychologically manipulates voters

Jesus I just realised the "La.. la la la la la la" in I Scream sounds like the Elmo's World theme song
  19. Like imagine the trippiness of High By The Beach and Freak in an actual rock song

So since getting back into Poppy, choke album/EP? is definitely my favourite. Particularly meat. That song really gives me shivers and I've had it on repeat. I want to dance and cry and die at the same time. And it leaves me feeling very disturbed. She did so well with that song and the message. How does it make you feel?

I can be in any mood to listen to Crybaby, even in it's entirety. But I have to be in a rather sweet or soft mood to listen to anything from K-12
  23. Agreed. I can't believe how much I loved California for the first few weeks of the release. I think it was only cause her good vocals came back in the chorus. I did love Lust for Life (everything besides the singles) for a few months but I also got really confused after that because it just didn't feel 'magic' like her previous albums. Same with NFR, but the realisation came a lot faster.
  24. I never thought it needed to be cheesy. Just some subtle stuff without taking away her voice http://lanaboards.com/index.php?/topic/10930-hope-is-a-dangerous-thing-strings-version/
