If she released "This Is What Makes Us Girls" or "Without You," I'd have a heart-attack and pass out.

Maybe Lana still doesn't like Gaga that much, but I am sure she respects her for what she has become in the music industry, specially since they're coming from very similar points.

I guess that anyone who is constantly online or at least has some general knowledge about the music industry knows about Lana. It's impossible that they have never heard about her or don't know who she is when she's in the cover of multiple magazines around the world and her album is in the top sold sections in stores.

    You make me laugh.

The album version, to me, is one of those tracks that I'm like "OK, fine, I'm listening to you because I'm listening to the whole album but can you please hurry up because 'Radio' is coming up next and I like it much better than you?".

I agree! The lyrics on the demo aren't bad, but the album version is just... dense. If we get a music video, I'll just mute it.

The "I got the ice, you got the fire" is just so much better than the final track, I think they screwed it up. I might not like it so much because I love the demo much better, just like it happens with "Diet Mountain Dew" (I mean, seriously, what the hell is that production they did to put it on the album?).

Welcome to LANALYSIS, where we get real unhealthy in our obsessions and absolutely revel in it.

This is a project I've been maintaining for a while now--Lana + Analysis...get it? The basic purpose is to relate every one of her songs (that's right, every last one of them) to her known and assumed relationships. Not a stone is left unturned. Privacy is violated. The fans rejoice. Mind you, it’s all pure speculation, but ~this is what makes us stans~

It’s pretty long but an interesting read, if I do say so myself. I hope you enjoy it in all it’s updated glory, and I will continue to update as new information is revealed and new songs come out. I will also be adding pictures, sources, etc. Stay tuned!

    Let’s get started!

    EARLY RELATIONSHIPS (1985 - ~2005)

    LOCAL ROCKSTARS (~2005 - 2009)

YOU MADE ME NICE FOR A WHILE (2009 - 2011)

    POST-BREAKTHROUGH (2011+)

    IN THE LAND OF DISCREPANCIES

    ADVANCED LANALYSIS

    IN SUMMARY..

    Lingering questions…
    - Who the fuck is K?
    - Who the fuck is Ray?
    - Who the fuck is Bill? Is Bill really K? Does Bill matter at all?
    - What significance do cars play? She mentions eight in total (white Corvette, white Pontiac, blue Chevy Nova/Chevrolet, Cadillac convertible, Mercedes, pickup truck, Lamborghini, Bugatti Veyron)
    - When was she/who was she with in New York City and New Jersey? Ditto LA? Most mysterious and pressing, her time in the South?
    - Did she have a fling with Bradley Soileau?
    - Did Chris C. matter enough to her for her to write songs about him?

    Assumptions Made:
    - Lana was a gogo dancer.
    - K is a drug dealer/murderer, dead or on death row.
    - Jimmy is her ex-fiancé, addicted to cocaine despite a Wikipedia page stressing how healthy he is, associated with Chevrolets.
    - Much of Sirens is about completely different relationships.
    - She fucked Bradley.
    - Mike controlled her career but their relationship wasn’t associated with anything fucked up like drugs or stripping.

Thanks for reading! I crave both your feedback and theories! This remains a forum collaboration and I don't claim to have the final say on Lanalytical manners.

For the sake of believability, I'm always hunting receipts, and currently:
    - The interview where she refers to "Yayo" as the prequel to "Video Games"
    - The interview where she describes "Video Games" as dealing with mutual sobriety in a relationship--her and her partner both staying clean.
    - The interview where she talks about meeting her boyfriend in rehab and being dazzled by his small-scale celebrity.
  23. Jord liked a post in a topic by Monicker in Do you think that Lana was really mistreated by US critics or she is exaggerating and valuing the critics for some other reason?
The obvious occurred to me: Her harshest critics are us, her biggest fans. We’re honest, often brutally so. Our opinions come from a place of actually giving a shit, not a ploy to increase readership. We have her under an intense magnifying glass, scrutinizing her more thoroughly and more often than any publication ever will. Websites, blogs, and the rest of the peanut gallery take more of a cursory glance at her, remotely commenting on the music--while remarkably managing to not actually say anything about music!--just to work in the sensationalist angle, but we examine and pass our judgement on everything: production and arrangement details, vocal performances, setlists, stage presence, touring schedule, her outfits, her shoes, her hair and makeup, her lips and nose, her age, her friends, her family, her past, her relationships, her drug and alcohol use...i don’t have the energy to keep enumerating them all. And, finally, we’re consistent--we do this day in, day out, whereas most everyone else chimes in only when she releases new music or a new video.

We’re a scary, intense bunch, let’s face it

^ Most of the ones in the first link aren't even that bad. Ridiculous though? Yes. Their agenda is palpable. It's sensationalist writing with the aim of tearing someone apart because someone as singular and paradoxical as Lana Del Rey is confusing and threatening to people, and that always attracts these sort of reactions. These publications need to get readers, so they find their angle, fixate on it and overemphasize it, and they create sensation. The empty rhetoric in those blurbs is nauseating. That's all that shit is with online "music" journalism, it's just inflated, flowery bullshit used to gain readership, sway opinion, and seem "relevant." None of those reviews ever talk about music. Because those writers know very little to nothing about music. They're just writers and fans of popular culture, products of the Rolling Stone History of Rock propaganda machine. They write cute and highly stylized, and they're fixated on stupid metaphors, and their shit amounts to nothing. If i had the ability, Pitchfork is the first one i'd bankrupt and put out of business. Yeah, talk to me about human emotion, Pitchfork.

Also, if i read that a record was recorded in a massive underwater cathedral, i would run to the store to buy that
