-I actually don't care about her lyrics coming off as "un-feminist" and sometimes even like it, if people are going to style their life choices after a lyric, i really have not much to say.
 
-she looks fucking gorgeous no matter what, but i really cringe when she says she hasn't had any plastic surgery....
 
-i'm really happy about her settling down and leading a calm happy life, but it also makes me think that she'll never write songs like she did in her lizzy grant days (although this is a really selfish fan pov)
 
-i think she's so concerned about her old songs flopping, and that she hides behind this new persona she's created for herself, but imo if she released them now, they would be far from flopping, and people would take her seriously.

so i have a friend and she said that she has a friend in year 8 who likes lana del rey, and apparently this girl in year 8 said 'omg nadia knows more about lana than me, and that's really saying something'. so a couple weeks ago my friend said 'okay so charlotte(the girl from year 8) wants to meet you' and i was like 'okay sure'. so i met her at break and BOOM we connected so quickly. she knew a few unreleased songs, we listened to lana for ages and she met me at lunch. and we've hung out every day since(: she runs my website with me and i gave her loads of songs and she's gonna buy me something lana for christmas ;D
 
not as eventful as all yours, but it means a lot to me.

Another thing of interest was that Lana has another shelved album called Rock Me Stable and songs on the album are being traded around among the community.
 
One trader was really pissed because he had recently gotten a hold of unreleased songs but they were all leaked during the Holocaust. I told him that he had gotten everything only to lose everything. So now he knows what true freedom is.

Hey guys, so I made a thread about this before, but we didn't have much information on the Paradise Edition back then so I just wanted to re-create a thread to let you all know that I still WANT this to happen really bad. Okay so the first country that the Paradise Edition is released in will be is Australia on Friday November 9th. I want to have a LanaBoards listening party of the album when the it's released so that we can all listen to the awesomeness in unison and maybe Lana will hear it all at once with her angelic ears and will know of our existence!
 
We would start with Born To Die, Off To The Races right the way through to Bel Air & Burning Desire. Please state your country below and I will try and work out what time it will be for you. Some of you may need to stay up really late, but you know we need to sacrifice our lives for Lana so it will all be worth it. I'm thinking that we create a tinychat and chat for about half an hour to wait for everyone to get here, then we play the album! We can discuss it REALTIME!

Now I think the way we'll do it is through Lana Del Reydio. So after half an hour, once everyone is in the chatroom (link will be provided closer to the date) we will go to www.spreaker.com/show/reydio and that website will play the album the whole way through, it just makes it so that we can all listen to the album at the same time is all. I will be taking down the songs straight after the party, because I'm still expecting you all to buy it

okay this is just my two cents.
 
i think she's gorgeous, but a lot of people think she's 'weird looking'. a lot of people don't find her attractive at all, so some of her success has to be from her voice. however people do often market her as being sultry and beautiful, etc. but to be successful in something like music or film then yes you do need to have stereo-typically good looks. with lana, you love her music or you hate it and the same goes to her looks.

Ooh I like the last one! It has quite an awesome vintage feel. But then again... Lana's stuff kinda always has a vintage feel lol.

Delicious was a cool song, not awful at all.

Lyrically speaking, i've always thought of Lana Del Rey, first and foremost, as a storyteller. Not, say, in the sense of Tom Waits, whose lyrics read more like short stories, and one doesn't ever really wonder if he's singing about people, places, and situations from his own life. I think with Lana it's a lot more apparent that her subject matter is drawn from her life, but it's always puzzled me that so many people take every word completely as autobiographical truth. Almost as if that gives the lyrics more value somehow. I suspect she embellishes quite a bit, and i don't find anything "wrong" with that, nor does it make her and her songs less interesting or valid. I think that, as is the case with most everything, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. That said, when it comes to Lana Del Rey, i'm not terribly interested in the truth and details of her past and personal life. I'm just a music d00d at the end of the day.

yeah but this is from the woman that says 'bestest' and 'you the best' so...

I don't mind if Lana wants to get high, smoke, drink or w/e else. (Apparently she still does drugs, but I have no evidence, but idc either way.) The way I see it is, she's her own person and I know loads of people who do that sort of thing but I still love them. And anyway, she should live her life however she likes.
