Just sketched down a very vague idea that Cherry Blossom gave me. I might turn it into some kind of cover art and maybe color it with water colors or something, we’ll see. I want it from a lower view so you will only see the child's feet, the swing and the mother's skirt, with cherry blossom petals in the air. I chose to give the child shorts so it can be gender neutral.
Edit: I sketched another doodle, it’s more like how I envision it.

I’m aware that it looks nothing like her, but I just wanted to try some watercolor pens I haven’t used for years so I painted Lana without sketching first.

Singing Money Power Glory aloud is the best but my laptop can't pick up loud sounds so I recorded this on my phone some time ago. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't, but whew, it is a fun song to sing. Starting low and then going hiiiiigher, weeeeee
I hope it's not too horrible.

Hi friends! I've been meaning to post this for like ever, but I kept forgetting. Anyway, last August I had some fun recreating Lana's video & photoshoot for Keds that was shot on August 26, 2009 - I shot mine August 25, 2018, 9 years + 1 day apart! I wanted to share the finished product with you all as I thought it turned out pretty cute (instagram saw it first though, follow me @ xmissdaytona if ya feel like it)
 
Another fun fact, most of the video footage from the video were from Live Photos from the photoshoot I converted to videos, so I wasn't even really intending to create a whole video out of it, but I thought it turned out cute.

I'm also a filmmaker, currently having done 20 feature-length films since 2010, while also doing short films and video essays on the side. By the time Elizabeth Grant and Interscope Records officially released the moody, iconic piano ballad "Video Games", Maroon 5 had the No. 1 hit of the moment with "Moves Like Jagger". Before that, Katy Perry and LMFAO were at the top with "Last Friday Night" and "Party Rock Anthem", respectively.
 
America wasn't ready for the LDR brand which, ironically, was an exaggeration, emphasis and glamourization of their own culture. She brought back the delicacy of the 50s, the beauty of the 60s, the freedom of the 70s, the grandiosity of the 80s, the fetichism of the 90s and the ambition of the new century.
 

 
Her project was impossible to ignore and inevitable to criticise for the media. And it's not new. The same thing happened back in the early 90s when Madonna put out the longing, provicative and intimate Erotica. People simply can't stand women feeling free enough to share their most disturbing thoughts and ideas. However, Erotica is now considered a masterpiece of its decade and an important part of the history of feminism and pop culture. Lana wasn't being universal, and that's what made people mad. Her Instagram-filtered world of abusive millionaire men, alcohol and ruined youth, along with Portishead-styled trip hop beats and dramatic orchestra wasn't relatable. Her being able to say she would die without her lover is just as important as Beyoncé singing girls run the world.
 

 
At the end of the day, Born to Die served as inspiration for both future and well-established artists. Music-wise, it was a pioneer of different trends: the new wave of hip-hop, the comeback of emotive, less technical vocalists, organic and slow pop instrumentation and an obsession with all things DIY; the latter leading to her important visual influence -- low budget, vintage and aesthetically pleasing, opposite to the futuristic and colorful trend that was going on before her. Popular musicians like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Selena Gomez and many more were so inspired by her music videos that even went to work with her directors.

First off, I'd like to apologise for being a little MIA recently. Had a lot of stuff going on in my personal life I needed to take care of, but now I'm back and ready to put all my focus back into the site.
 
That being said, I am ready to make some updates to the site. But of course, I do all of this for you guys. A lot of time and money goes into LanaBoards, but I'm willing to do it all because I adore this community so much. It's become family to me. So that being said, I want all of your opinions on what I should do.
 
I'm preparing a new theme for you all to hopefully roll out before March. I was going to wait until we had some proper photoshoots for NFR, but it seems that's going to be awhile, so I'm going to create a little in-between theme with the current site layout until we get more era-related content. Then, when more NFR stuff rolls out, I'll re-update. So let's talk about this.
 
When NFR comes and another update will follow, would you prefer I just make another theme or would you like to see a whole site update? I asked this question a few weeks ago, and the majority of the users said they'd prefer to keep the site the way it is, just with an updated theme. But I'd like to revisit this question. If I were to do a site update, the website would look similar to DiamondGarden.net, as LanaBoards uses the same forum platform as they do, and that is what an updated version would look like. Tell me your thoughts.
 
Another thought that's been brought up is an updated mobile site or even an app. This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile, but this will take a lot of time and money, especially if I were to do an app. I've heard users say they would even donate to a kickstarter type situation for an app (I also take donations and still actively do. There are large monthly and quarterly fees to keep LanaBoards up and running, and I pay these with the Adsense & donations, and sometimes out of pocket if my revenue isn't enough to cover it)
Thoughts on this? Would you all be willing to donate if I were to roll out an app? An updated mobile site would probably cost less if nothing at all to produce, but would take lots of time.
 
Please tell me all your thoughts. What I should do in terms of updates, mobile options, new features, and any other things you'd like to add. Again, I'm making these changes on your terms! I always strive to have this little hub to be as enjoyable for everyone as possible, so I'd like to create something that would satisfy as much of you as possible.
 
I'm sending you all so much love. Everything I do is all for you. I'm so thankful to have found this community many years ago and now run this site for us all. It's the greatest gift I could ever ask for. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on upcoming changes for the site, and then watch them fruition. Here's to a wonderful 2019 for everyone on LanaBoards.
