Ultraviolence - Pre-Release Thread
whitman replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
They're not really using any new photo to promote the tour ( just the cover of Paradise) so I guess it's the same tour she did around Europe and South America last year. -

All I hope for is that she promotes this album like she did with Born To Die ( interviews, magazine shoots and tv shows) and not just release one single and one year later release another EP with the same songs. -

Who would say that my little girl Lana would work with one of the musician that I love the most? How lucky of a fan am I? You guys have no ideia how happy I'm right now. -
She quotes Nabokov in Angels Forever "Paradise is a hell-colored flame sky" " a paradise whose skies were the color of hell-flames" - V. Nabokov

Lana is working with Giorgio Moreder. God let this be true ( and certainly it is. At least it fits the juliette lewis description of the new songs) I hope she invitates David Lynch to direct a new video, can you all imagine how great this would be? I'd literally die for ir! Or maybe Woodkid again -
Lana Del Rey Nominated for 2 Grammys!

Grammy is a joke. Imagine Dragons won over David Bowie, Jack White and QOTSA in Rock Performance. -

She'll sing mostly BtD and Paradise songs on Coachella, since it's a festival not a private concert. But I'm pretty sure she'll sing at least a new one ( just like Body Electric was performed at some festivals before the Paradise release). But you never know with Ms. Del Rey: in the week she released Ride she performed at Itunes Festival and didn't sing it so who knows? hm so it seems she won't change her sound THAT much. It makes sense, BtD sold millions, but I'm hoping for something a little different -
But she had dates announced in south america and Europe so it's was pretty clear that she wasn't able to tour on America. This time around things are a little different, there is no upcoming shows besides Coachella and she said something about concerts in Tropico premiere, right?

Arcade Fire and Lana in the same day? WHOW Remember her interview back in 2012 when she was asked about why she was snubbed by Coechella and she answered "I don't think they are dying to have me there, I'm kinda boring at the stage" ( idk if it was exactly these words but anyway) and now she is one of headliners, really good. Also, I think this means american tour

So I was really thinking about how "Why I love America" poem ( Idk if that's really the name ) is releated to Bel Air ( or the "Ressurrection" act of Tropico).Has anyone here thought about it?

Tropico named 2nd biggest flop of 2013 by VH1
whitman replied to Foolish's topic in Awards & Nominations
It's not like Tropico was intended to make a impact on charts or something so I don't know how could be a "flop"; for example in the same way Britney and Gaga flopped. But I do agree it was not really a clever decision, the transformation from "vintage beauty queen" to "stripper cola" before a new record could impact in how Lana will hold public attention - that's why some people thought she was trying too hard with Tropico. -
Oscar Saboteur Targets Lana Del Rey Song "Young and Beautiful"
whitman replied to Ultra-Violence's topic in Latest News
Honestly, I've never read any speculation about if it was eligible or not, it's known among fans that she was working in new songs, she never said that it was specifically for Paradise ( but it's more a rumor than a fact). In September she announced she was working for a movie "set in the 20'", this is the only official source that confirms the song was for the movie ( and she did say that she wrote the "rest of the song after the garden scene") - there is no way they could disqualify Y&B because of that -

No, Y&B it's perfect eligible for Oscars - indeed the song it's already one of 75 finalist elegible songs for Oscars . -
Young And Beautiful nominated for Critics Choice Awards!
whitman replied to Manueldelrey's topic in Awards & Nominations
3 nominations and 1 snubb...it's certainly look like she's gonna be nominated for Oscars ( althought I don't want to get too much excited) -
I'm not even a Beyoncé fan but the album is really amazing. The album has it all: pontential hits ( Drunk in Love, XO and Blow), some really good collabs and songs with hyped producers and songwriters.

Facts: some weeks before Lana did an interview where she said her "muse was very flicke" and didn't know for sure what to write now that some of her new songs leaked. Not even one month later, she announces a new album. If what this guy clamming is true and there is a real chance of Live or Die really be on ULTRAVIOLENCE, I think this indicates that new album could be a compilation of old songs or maybe a mix of new and old ones. -

Just ask him about his inspirations to write the lyrics and his work, who he would like to work with...you know, this type of question about his work to seem you are really interested about it and you're not just a weirdo fan of Lana that wants information about her, he's clearly proud of his work and wants to be recognized since his bragging about it on a yt video so I'm pretty sure he could give insights about the process that could clarify his role on her lyrics -

But she worked with so many differents lyricists and her songs all sound thematically the same. But I do believe she writes her songs, the fact that she recorded a song written by someone else could explain why she has so many songs -

The fact he didn't deny that he actually wrote the lyrics ( just like Rowels did when asked abou SS) indicates that is actually the main writter of these songs. Which sucks, after all Velvet Crowbar is one of her best songs -
Lana Del Rey Nominated for 2 Grammys!
whitman replied to Manueldelrey's topic in Awards & Nominations
I don't think that has anything to do with her tour but her impact in USA this year, as you said Grammys is a business machine and Lana finally had 2 popular singles there is no way they can ignore her anymore. About soundtrack nom, the real problem is Skyfall. There is no way to compete with this song -

Honestly, I think she only has a chance with the remix category. But who knows, Paradise was a surprise ( I didn't know an EP could be moninated) maybe this could be her chance. But anyway I'm sure she is extremely happy ans god help us to make this idea that america hates her out of her head now she is a grammy nom -
You should all buy it, considering how many of unreleased music we have from Lana ( some of them aren't even demos) it's fair to support her.

W. W reverse Christian values and concepts, in his eyes we're all sinners from the start but differently from christian concept "Adam's children can regain this lost paradise not by denying the flesh, which had been a Puritan belief, but by accepting it. Thus, man is not born debased as a result of Original Sin. He should be proud of his heritage and of the "Adamic" in him"
