it's been almost a month & i'm still totally in love with this album. fave songs are tammy faye, snake, and beautiful & bad, with honorable mentions to chapel & my baby. LOVE the distorted high-pitched wailing in lacrymaria olor, but somehow i like that more than the whole song itself.
 
i love the way she re-worked the already existing songs & overall prefer the 2nd half of the album to the 1st in terms of sound/aesthetic, but my only criticism is that the 2 halves don't really feel cohesive. it's like listening to 2 different albums - which could have been an intentional choice, but i kinda doubt that; or if it was, i don't think the idea was very well accomplished - even the sound quality & volume of the mix are different, and the transition from heart shaped bed to snake is jarring. like, we totally hear/feel the time lapse between the first 5 songs & the last. i read her stereogum profile/interview and it def seems like she had a hard time finishing this album due to now having a bigger audience/touring & fearing being criticized bc of her morbid/un-PC themes, so that could explain it, idk.
 
anyway. tl;dr, the album isn't perfect but i still love it & will be playing the shit out of it this winter. <3

Look, I understand y'all not supporting Poppy. I don't either. But you need to let other people do what they want. You can't force somebody to stop listening to an artist. Some people can just separate art from the artist. I am not one of those people, but I can understand where they're coming from.
 
And honestly, if you don't want to support her but still want to hear the album, you can still stream it. I think 1,000 streams equals to about $8USD on Spotify, so she's not getting much from just those streams.

I feel bad saying this, but Eden is a step down from Ephorize and Queen Elizabitch. 
Both of those albums had better thought out sex songs (CPR, Cumshot, Duck Duck Goose, etc), better written personal songs (Scraps, Self Interview, Single While Taken) and superior "flex" songs (Fullest, Meet & Greet, Quick Thought).
 
Don't get me wrong, parts of Eden really go off!!! PetSmart is hard as hell, and Quiz is my favorite song she's ever released to date. 
My personal main problem with it, is that the lyrical content feels kind of rushed.

You get my point, there's a few more songs that do the same thing. The verses are straight fire but then the hooks in the chorus are just not continuing the greatness she delivers on the verses. I'm sure I will come to love them all in time, but upon the first 20 listens of this album so far, I can't really say that my mind is as blown as it was when Queen Elizabitch came out, then Ephorize dropped 8 months later and it was a double wigsnatch. I know my opinion means nothing, but maybe there are others who feel the same?
 
I love CupcakKe so much, I admire her work ethic, releasing 6 albums over the span of 2.5/3 years, but I think maybe taking a little break from writing would be good for her. Just a short one.

sorry but am I the only one who sees absolutely NO similarity between slayyyyter and charli? I don't know if there's something I'm not seeing but I'm genuinely BAFFLED @ charli stans calling miss thang an XCX clone ???? it really does strike me as jealously, but why? there's NO reason for charli stans to be jealous of lil old slayyyter ???? 
 
the only slight similarity i see is lipgloss and platform shoes having similar instrumentals (even that is ehh considering how sonically different the verses are  ) and the single covers sorta looking like those fanmade XCX ones, but other than that, can someone please point me to the other times slayyyter has allegedly copied charli?
 
keep in mind that i'm not even trying to be shady because I literally stan both .
