In my opinion, no they're not. BlackPink may have only 4 singles so far but they've had tons of model jobs for commercials and keep their V line (?) on very often. 2NE1 were usually hold back during their hiatuses, maybe they wanted that, maybe not. BlackPink is not yet 1 year old, so I can't really compare them to 2NE1 yet.But YG being YG, he has his favorites and BlackPink are definitely one of them right now. I'm just waiting for him to lose his interest and hide them in the "dungeon" as so many others of YG Entertainment artists have been treated.

Yeah I doubt she cares about the charts that much or what other artists are doing. The good sis literally just wants to make music for herself and her fans and that's why I love her so damn much.

Lana is more criative and talented without doing any effort, I dont think she cares about Lorde material

I agree that she delayed the album because of commercial reasons, but disagree with "she gets to hear what her rivals have brought the table" tho

If the specualation is right and the album was originally planned for may 26th then delaying it means regrouping on the promotion. I mean so many magazines came out at that time, almost all at once. She had te bbc performance I think it was the day after the supposed drop. So if she is delaying the album, putting on more songs, then before she can promote again she first needs to have a clear idea of which songs will be on the album and so fort.
It's quiet now because Lana and her team are figuring things out, and at this point you can't start a new cycle of magazine shoots, because those are mostly shot much earlier before the release. She's not comfortable being on TV. So the only thing she can do is putting out new music/videos. And if the album is changing, then probably the promotion to.
 
It's not strange she takes a couple of weeks to put things together again. I don't expect it to be silence until the album comes. I think we will soon start to see/get new music and things to come.

BlackPink are coming back soon! I hope the MV will look amazing since they filmed it in an interestering environment. *( ^ - ^ )*
And I'm still sad and pissed about how YG treated 2NE1. And I'm getting mad at CL too for never releasing her US debut album, I've been waiting for at least 3 years now. >___< And Bommie?? What's going on with her, I want to hear her sing again! Just let her, her voice is so unique!
2NE1 was (is) my favorite girl group. So sad about how it ended, but I'm wishing them all the best! TT___TT

Just thirty two days until Lust for Life is coming out and the album has no sign of life yet. No new news, no tracklist, nothing. I'm starting to panic. Lana, where the fuck are you? 

I have such a vivid vision for Bel Air. Lana is in heaven walking through an ethereal garden and towards the second chorus she sees her man and "runs like mad", dropping a bouquet of flowers and they spin around and dance sort of like this scene from Freak

Off to the Races, in my opinion, could have been a cinematic masterpiece of a music video given the right production value and direction. (If she went through with it). 
 
I'd imagine her entwined with an older man, sitting alongside him as the intro starts. She'd have this exact Dazed look, talking the lyrics. Guiding the viewer over her man's cards, the poker table, the ambience of people gambling, the cigars and drinks. And as the song unfolds, I imagine her and her man just running havoc in a place like Caesar's Palace in Vegas. The chimes / lights of the slot machines, Lana standing in front of sculptures, laughing with wads of cash in her hands. Waving it in front of people, as if teasing them and the viewer.
Then towards the end, I envision her man getting tangled into something he can't easily get out of with his charm. A fight breaks out. Guns are drawn, a chandelier shatters as the diamonds fall to the ground. People run away, but Lana keeps sitting there. Merely inches away from a possibly fatal attack. She won't leave his side because she loves him and the life too much. 
Then the outro, when the orchestra and strings start playing, Lana drives out of Vegas and onto the desert freeway. With a bag of cash in the backseat and mascara tears running down her face. 
 
One could only dream 

I've always imagined Brooklyn baby to be Lana just hanging out in Brookyln with her man-Bradley is who I imagine, in this case.
I imagine the intro to be some old vintage clips of Brooklyn and then the rest (in no specific order) is her walking passed some graffiti filled walls, singing in a pub with her man's band, driving (or walking) on the Brooklyn Bridge, going by Coney Island (think Summer Wine), and like in the UV/Freak video where she's sitting in a room with a record player she's just listening to some Ella Fitzgerald and Lou Reed (the records are visible), writing/playing guitar, and getting ready to go out for the night.
As for the outfit/makeup I see it as the Fader shoot with the white shirt/hoop earrings and the brown jacket
 
Pretty When You Cry for me is basically the Complex shoot and Lana just waiting around and becoming more and more hopeless and there are flashbacks to their relationship with one another.

I think about Lana sitting on a bench with roses behind her when I hear Pretty When You Cry.

i dont think its a surprise that the majority of the fanbase is women and LGBT men, due to the topics of lost love and struggle with herself and the people shes with; but theres definitely straight guys who like her and some are even on the site. 
 
the sassiness can be attributed to the exaggerated gay persona, but overall its more fun and humorous to have a light attitude mixed with shading others and just having a good time. Its online, you can be the most boring person irl but on a forum site you can be the biggest queen in the world. And the mom stuff is also humor, like queen & such. (ie when Lana posts the photos of the Flaunt mag "omg queen of spilling wine on loser husband", when she announced the release date "thanks mom". People just look up to her and its especially strong with her when she literally calls us her kids so)
 
i cant speak for everyone but this is the insight i personally know 
 

I'm currently sitting at the botanical garden with palm trees, citrus trees, agave and other tropical plants around me and I'm listening to Ultraviolence while drawing. It started to get windy and I felt raindrops falling down, so I took cover under a roof.
But this place is one of my favorite places in my university town and Lana makes everything even more magical. ❤️ Plus, a couple just had their wedding ceremony here.
