Wow. I really love this video. It’s so raw, real, beautiful, and a great look at Lana’s inner-workings. It’s quite poignant that she released a stunningly authentic video for an album that came out 2 years ago and reveals a slightly darker side to what was considered one of Lana’s lighter albums. I love it - this video is a reminder of the fact that there are so many layers left to unravel of Lana’s artistry. Definitely one of my favourites.

Blue Banisters - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
IanadeIrey replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
Hi everyone! I heard the news about the 6 unreleased tracks on BB, as well as the album being over 11 tracks! Lana’s post yesterday felt like a sign of music to come soon, so hopefully Arcadia and the whole album are imminent. I’m super excited for Blue Banisters and can’t wait for all of the extra goodies that accompany an album release as fall dawns upon us, it seems like the perfect time for Lana to release new music. October is such a great month so I’d love for the album to be released then. From what we can assume about the sonic landscape, as well as the richness and warmth of the album cover, the weather of these next few months seems to reflect exactly how the album will feel. -
Literally! It’s absolutely one of my favourite songs from Chemtrails (and it’s so hard to pick an absolute favourite from that record) <3

Chuck shared a photo of baby Phoenix! <3 This fills my heart with so much joy. Babies are a gift in this world - to be born is truly the most beautiful thing on earth.

Blue Banisters - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
IanadeIrey replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
Realistically, I think the single is dropping the end of summer and the album probably won’t arrive until the end of this year or the top of next year. From a business point of view, perhaps they are waiting until January 2022 so that Blue Banisters gets more exposure as it coincides with Born to Die’s 10 year anniversary. People talking about BTD’s legacy and Lana being celebrated in the mainstream for her longevity after 10 years is the perfect time to release a new album, commercially-speaking. -
What will Lana name her future child/ren?
IanadeIrey replied to Alison by Slowdive's topic in Lana Thoughts
I think Angelina, Maria Estela, and Violet are strong contenders for a daughter she’s used those names in reference to hypothetical children and I think Violet is probably extra significant since it was her great-grandmother’s name! -
I agree, and I don’t think Lana is necessarily a fan of people making similar music to her *especially* if they previously voiced their distaste for her music and didn’t bother to rectify such comments Although I’m not an avid listener or a fan, I think Lorde is a great musician, but I also think she should make music that sounds like...well, Lorde! I feel like after NFR, a lot of people wanted to create their own versions of that record and maybe I’m biased because it’s Lana, but nothing beats the original.
-
I know it’s off topic but re: the Lorde talk- She did say that she made this album to “amuse [her] peers” and that she wanted certain musicians to listen to it, text her, and say “I see what you did there”. So, I wonder if the similarities between her new stuff and Lana’s signature sound/lyricism is deliberate...

I’m living for the coral-peach acrylics. And they’re extra long this time, very summer 2010/2011 LDR. And the summer 2019, warm, medium-brown-blonde hair colour! Summertime is indeed Lana’s season, and I can’t wait for Blue Banisters to continue to embody that

I’ve realized it’s always changing and I love them all so closely that I can’t really choose! So not a ranking, but in terms of my listening frequency at the moment - 1. Honeymoon 2. Chemtrails Over the Country Club 3. Norman Fucking Rockwell! 4. Ultraviolence 5. Born to Die 6. Lust for Life 7. Paradise

Lust For Life - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
IanadeIrey replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
Happy birthday, Lust for Life! What an amazing record, one that I think helped solidify Lana’s status as one of the greatest songwriters of all time. I really admire all of the heart and soul she put into the record, which is ultimately reflected in its diverse sonic landscape and classically Lana feel. Its lyricism is true to Lana’s creative identity but is fresh in its clarity of inner dialogue and reflection of global affairs. And the memories I have attached to it are forever dear to me - it reminds me of mid-July, hot summertime ☀️? Heroin is my favourite song from the record and remains one of Lana’s most brilliant tracks, as well as one of my favourite songs of all time. Can’t believe it’s already been 4 years! ?? -
Blue Banisters - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

I think the “multiple Lana projects over the past year” bit could include Behind the Iron Gates, as Jack did the musical score for Patent Leather Do-Over. Hopefully that means it’s coming soon! -
Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
IanadeIrey replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
I think this album is taking its place as my absolute favourite from her once again! I think this one in particular does an amazing job of capturing what there is to love about BTD, Paradise, and UV, and actually foretells the levels of self-introspection, grace, and maturity that would follow in LFL, NFR, COTCC, and now BB. That timelessness narrative from Burnt Norton seems to be taking on a new meaning within the record now that we are almost 6 years down the line from it - Honeymoon as an album really summed up everything that Lana set out to do as an artist and remains transcendent of all timelines. And not to mention, the album really does sound like the French Riviera in the 60s and brings on so many themes that are intelligent and indulgent, all at once. Truly a perfect record that I think stands the test of time and is an underrated gem in her discography <3 -

I would say the title track of Honeymoon. To me, it represents a perfect conduit between grandiosity and authenticity, which is ultimately how I would describe Lana.

Well, I wasn’t excusing his behaviour at all so I agree with everything you said. I just think it’s immature for fans to take his implicit tweets and make something explicit out of it - or just “celebrate” the state of the relationship now. Like, just because he attempted to publicize something doesn’t mean the fans should do it too - they should read the room. If anything, nobody should have said anything.
-
As a fan, I obviously want the best for Lana across all spectrums of her life and that includes her relationships. But I obviously don’t know her personally and I definitely do not know any of the men she has been with, so I think creating narratives about potential statuses of the relationship is something fans should avoid - I’m referring to comments I’ve seen on Instagram and Twitter, where fans have been making claims of unfaithfulness on either end and other intrusive things that are inappropriate and ultimately lead to a bandwagon of hate for one person :/ Regardless of what happened, I’m sure as a fanbase, we’re all collectively sending Lana our best! <3

Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
IanadeIrey replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
A perfect album with some of her most creative and stunning visuals <3 Everything surrounding this record is so cohesive and during its era, you could tell Lana was really proud and excited to have created this body of work. Every lyric contains multitudes - this is one of the rare albums in history where the meaning of the songs are both super clear and super ambiguous, as they’re written to be interpreted in so many different ways. There is a very strong metaphysical thread running throughout this record that can be hard to miss if you don’t read between the lines a bit. There are layers upon layers, lyrically, sonically, visually... ily, honeymoon -
That caption must be lyrics - they’re so poetic!
