This is giving me MAGDALENE flashbacks with a big part of the album already being performed live months before its release lol (Drums of Death and Girl Feels Good already being out there in HQ is so... ). Anyways I feel like this is gonna end up being my favorite twigs album. I'm really loving everything I'm hearing so far.

The way this nonsensical point keeps getting brought up time and time again whenever someone gets rightful backlash for working with Dr Luke. Like people said before: Kim Petras does get backlash for working with him, it's literally the main thing she gets backlash for. And Doja signed to him before the allegations, was forced to work with him and has mentioned how he steals credits on songs he did not work on (and they even made her retract that statement later on), so it's not at all comparable to Katy willingly working with him.

Just listened to the album. It was not good, but I’m not really surprised by that. I expected to like a couple of songs though but none of them did anything for me. Flop! All The Love was alright though.

I scrolled past the album cover without realising and thought it was a magazine cover lol. It’s not a bad cover (I like it) but the covers of LP1 and Magdalene are so top tier that this one feels very simple and kinda underwhelming

Kinda excited for these movie projects she got going on rn. Maybe she’ll finally get that oscar they snubbed her for for her role in the Angry Birds movie!

The VMAs have become so lame. It feels like every year they focus on iconic moments of the past and it has just become a nostalgia thing without there being any new iconic moments. There are some good performances here and there but other than that it’s really not worth watching. The last good VMAs was 2016. Most people don’t really care about the awards aspect of it since it’s always been very rigged, but it is funny how they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore. Katy winning most iconic performance is laughable and just sets her up to get dragged because no one who isn’t extremely delusional would actually believe that… I’m assuming they did it to stir up some controversy and get people talking about it online cause that performance getting nominated in the first place is very silly.

I don’t think her break-up with Joe has anything to do with the re-recordings being bad. I just don’t think she cares that much about having the re-recordings be as good as they can be, since the average listener won’t notice much of a difference anyway. (Some might disagree with that but you really can’t convince me she couldn’t find someone better equipped to mimic Max Martin’s detailed production for 1989 TV.) As for Midnights and TTPD, I think the bar was set pretty high by folklore and evermore and Midnights/TTPD didn’t live up to it. I wouldn’t call it a sharp decline, she just dropped 2 of her best albums and the 2 albums that followed it weren’t 2 of her best albums. Imo Midnights and TTPD are better than Lover. Lover has some of her best songs but as a full body of work it’s kinda a mess. If Joe had that much impact on the quality of her music, Lover would’ve probs been a better album, considering he’s the lover in question…
