I also think This is What Makes Us Girls is overrated. I wish she'd stuck to something more like the demos (which slay) because imo, the album version can be a bit boring, the bridge is the only thing that saves it for me. Blue Jeans too, it's grown on me quite a bit recently but I still think it's overrated - probably because, like VG, it's a more well known song but it's a little bit boring. And that stupid yelling in every bar is a bit too much for me.

That's probably partly because of hipsters who make out they're Lana fans but only know Video Games so it's the only song they can obsess over

It kind of annoys me how Cola is mostly treated as a novelty song, it's not her best because I think the chorus is a bit weak but I think the strings and the crazy 'oooOOOOAAAH's in the bridge and at the end make up for it. Plus it grew on me a lot more when I saw it live. I can see why people would think it's overrated though.

Perhaps a bit of a negative spin on the underrated LDR songs thread but I think we need this thread tbh (praying it doesn't already exist). Just for the record, I love or at least like every one of Lana's songs but this is the first one that comes into my head... Pawn Shop Blues. I mean, I like it. The lyrics are sweet but I always secretly have to hold myself back from skipping it on AKA because it just doesn't really fit the mood that I'm in when I listen to the album. I think people obsess over it too much, I don't know how you can like this more than some of the other songs on the album.

This nearly made me cry, I'm not kidding! I saw her too (on May 12th) and hearing someone else's experience made me so emotional - I'm so happy for you and your friend!

Damn Perfume have been growing on me so much lately, Triangle is by far their best album, infact it's one of my all-time favourite albums. I'm so excited about seeing them live I think I'll try getting into Kyary too because she was the first j-pop artist I listened to but because I've been listening to so many other people, I haven't really had the time for her but she's pretty similar to Perfume's music and I don't know how you can not think she's adorable. Also, is it worth getting into Utada Hikaru? I've been listening to her a little bit recently and there's something really appealing about her and her music. I know her USA career was a bit of a mess but I actually like some of it

I can just imagine QOTGS and Boarding school. I bet she'd unleash the sassy, trashy Lizzy side of her And with BTTB, it's definetly not one of her best vocally but I think it's a great song, I don't know how people can dislike it. I'd love there to be a version 2 with a different instrumentation and just generally tidied up, the same for Pin Up Galore.

I actually cried a teeny weeny bit today becase I really regret not buying the photobook. I love the poster but I feel so cheap, my friend bought the photobook and it's beautiful. I just have to keep remembering that the memories and a barrie-signed ipod is a million times better

That's disgusting, it looks really unhealthy. I wear makeup because i have bad skin but that's not just hiding everything away and looking pretty, it's beyond that - it just looks even worse. I saw her film (dunno why haha), the scenes where she had no makeup was just strange, she looked so much younger and like a different person... Shrek as some people may say Lana looks gorgeous with or without makeup, I love how she wears her makeup though, not everyone can pull off outlining eyeshodow with eyeliner, she's got the right face for everything. Sigh.

I'm pretty sure the ceo of yahoo has the common sense that any minor changes, even if they're better, will be instantly hated by people on tumblr so I wouldn't expect any major changes or a downfall.

I'm pretty much the same as Trash Magic, I only have their 'Very Best Of...' album but I really like their music, it's good family music that I have been listening to since I was about 6 years old and have some happy memories driving around on holidays, to our old caravan etc. which the beach boys always remind me of, an essensial album for the car in the summertime.

In You & Me I found out the other day that she doesn't say 'that proves they were glistening / that proves they're magnificent' and it's actually about tattoos? it's one of my favourite songs but i've always focused on the instrumentation too much which is pretty basic so I have no excuse

I only found that out recently. i'm so pleased i'm not the only one! you know when you just hear the lyrics the first time and never think about the fact it doesn't even fit in with the song because why would she want someone she loves to die? and then you just assume it's them until you go on the all lyrics thread and find out your life is a lie...
