LaMartine liked a post in a topic by Escapism in Unpopular Lana Opinions
Summertime Sadness is one of my favorite Lana videos, the atmosphere is everything
This is embarrassing but, I remember when I first watched it I thought Lana was bi or something because the way she portrayed the relationship with Jaime seemed very natural (as in it was just like any other relationship she played in her videos) and I looked something up along those lines and found that picture of her and Chuck (who I thought was Jennifer Lawrence ) kissing. And younger me was very excited, I even told my friend about the picture of Chuck or "Jennifer" and her .

LaMartine liked a post in a topic by Doll Harlow in In your opinion, what is the best era?
I'm gonna say AKA because I know it's not going to win the poll and I live for the whole aesthetic of that time in Lizzy's life. The platinum hair, the high singing voice, the trailer park vibe.

The Melanie #stans4life are saying that Timothy's story is "off" or whatever because of the dates and the hair or something... You know that was supposedly years ago, right? Do you really think that she remembered the exact date and time from YEARS ago? And about the hair thing.. You know Melanie could've been wearing a wig on that day, too, right? Are people seriously this delusional??
ALSO, how much proof do y'all need??? Melanie pretty much confirmed it happened by saying "Oh, well she didn't say no!!!" .... Just stop.

Can you just explain what your definition of rape is? Because what Timothy described fits the definition of rape that you linked. So i'm confused
I have to agree that you don't deserve to be banned but you seem to just enjoy hurting people here and I'm not sure why. Especially when it's about topics others seem to be sensitive about, like in this thread where members have bee sharing their own experiences with sexual assault. You have the right to hold and share your opinions but you just tend to do it in the worst of ways and then get proud of yourself for """triggering""" people. Which is not what you do btw.

Omg will you actually keep us updated? I wanna see if they give a shit
Look this isn't even a court case yet and probably never will be. Even if it was, no one on this site would have anything to do with the outcome so just let us be good people and support Timothy like any decent person should?
I'm sick of people thinking they are better by being the emotionless 'I'm so logical, facts only!!!' bc there is more at play here than just 'is melanie innocent?'
Purely the way she handled it shows she is messed up and condescending, while still hiding the truth. That's enough for us to make our personal decision on her, and it turns out that the decision most of her old fan base has made is that Melanie ain't a great person, so goodbye

LaMartine liked a post in a topic by Shades in Melanie Martinez
honestly I can't get over this
other people have questioned whether it actually happened or not which is a pretty shitty thing to do but I can see how it's a valid point some people would want to make. but you're not even questioning whether it happened, you're just saying that what happened wasn't rape and that's just so messed up... like should we be worried about the people around you

sometimes people who get raped by family/close friends still do hang out with their rapists and try to compartmentalize their relationships (until eventually they implode) and i wished i'd seen less of "well why didn't she fight back, push her away, left" and more of "why didn't martinez back off, why can't she seek enthusiastic sexual partners instead - like all of us, why does she pressure and nag people for sex, why doesn't no mean no, why would she have power trips with the people she claims to be friends with"
There are so many sources about how false rape accusations are rare, it's all good to always critically take in an information but it's not our objective to be the prosecutors and find every way to shut down a victim and disparage them. We should rather make sure to unlearn some of our biases, like teaching guys (and everyone else) that women can be rapists and it's possible to be raped by a girl and it doesn't change how grave this act is, not shaming someone who was raped should be the norm and having an unconventional lifestyle (drugs, being homeless or other) doesn't take away that someone could have been damaged like that.

This sounds ridiculous. "Her master plan", "it was the moment tim was waiting for", "mel had everything she wanted." This is like bad fan fiction, I can't. Also, the idea that making up a rape story is "so easy" really isn't true. We are at a place in culture (especially US entertainment/Hollywood) where people who have come forward are getting a lot more recognition and action is being taken to the alleged abusers, but it wasn't that way even a few months ago, let alone June 2016. I am not sure the ramifications would have been the same.
Timothy's story checks out and Melanie has never denied that things went down between them. The only thing that's left to speculate on is if consent was given, and that's not something that can be proved either way unless you were in the room with them. In reading Timothy's story and later interview, there's nothing that feels unusual or seems like she is lying.

It's not that both you and the other person needs to say the word "yes," it's that there needs to be a clear understanding of consent between both parties. Being silent and remaining still after adamantly saying no previously doesn't demonstrate that. If Timothy responded positively to Melanie's advances by showing interest, that would count as consent.
Melanie saying "she didn't say no" shows that Melanie didn't actually care what Timothy's response was, she was going to do something anyways. She knew her advances were unwanted, and just because Timothy stopped verbally denying she took that as a go ahead. If Timothy had said "actually Melanie I change my mind, lets have sex" her response could work. But she didn't, so it doesn't.
Y'all should not need to be educated on the way consent works at this age

it's called enthusiastic consent. if you really think engaging in sexual relations with someone who's laying there stiffly, not reciprocating and had denied you of this same thing dozens of time and had done nothing to indicate they had changed their mind = not rape, then you've got more issues than i thought u did lmao. grow up. why are you always defending the shittiest people and points of views

Read Melanie's statement you'll see the proof that Melanie thinks silence and reluctance is the same as saying yes. Thats what I call proof

Seriously...some of you are really dense. Regardless of who were involved, it's rape. Point blank! Put aside your admiration for your favorite artist and realize the situation for what it is. Defending the perpetrator only just brings to light how disgusting you are as a person.
Basically...

i can guarantee if this was some random ass dude we'd all be having fun dragging the dude, talking about how his life is in shambles
