I'm conflicted about what I want for LDR6. As much as I love her style in UV, HM is where Lana finally found her style imo. I think the best thing is to let her surprise us with whatever she has on mind for LDR6, but I'd really love to see a mix between UV and HM: sorta jazzy, with great instrumentals like HM, and the iconic trippy vibe from UV.

But idk, I'll try to keep my expectations low like I did with LFL, after all it's Lana we're talking about, she could decide to do a album full of Coachella-like songs.

I just love the attitude in the AKA/BTD songs, they had so much personality and took on a life of their own. I wish for that to come back. I still think Lana is at her best while storytelling

Now that awhile has gone by I can agree that LFL has sort of fallen short for me personally, I rarely ever reach for it to listen to despite still listening to BTD and UV in their entireties regularly. Its by no means a bad album just has a lack of direction. I just think these songs are lacking what makes a Lana song a Lana song for me.

I still regularly think about what the album would have been like if it had followed the vision of the album trailer, a whimsical yet dark album with ethereal lyrics like BPBP and some horror soundtrack inspired sounds. Could have been so cool.

I really want her to make a scary horror album

Imagine a lana del rey documentary, she's so private so it would be such a mess. You'd just have a camera following her to starbucks and the gas station every morning and then she'd go home and shut the door in it's face and start posting instagram vids of scientific things with her 8mm iphone app, the end.

what really worries me here is that whether lana was not going to go through this project we would probably never know, i feel that if she ever actually decided to drop that idea she won't tell us and i'll be stick in limbo forever hoping for this to happen because man i really want this to happen

yes it could be some cool limited edition for collectionneurs, i just really want to have my official released tracks and i think she would sell well in japan and europe where she has many fans willing to pay but most of them aren't hardcore enough to know her unreleased stuff. i just ideally think they deserve recognition and to become "legitimate". leaked songs are like b***ards that don't get their own mv, radio appearance, and rightful spotlight

the general consensus here seems to steer towards either releasing them as they are/remastered at most or with a newer production ft her latest beats; ok the latter aren't my faves either but i'd take a new production tbh. the songs would be easier to remix thus to commercialize and i can still take my previous orphaned leaked songs and add them to the right album if i'm not happy with them

we've seen lana taking calls for honeymoon (no matter how short it was) and willing to call her fans, to be closer so she could release this album digitally and sell the physical copies by pre-ordering them

it's very feasible but since her people might think it's not very lucrative it can easily be let down, if she releases unreleased songs we have never heard about too people could still be hyped. man i'm thinking way too much about this

i mean how cool it would be if she released this album and did a documentary style/home video short movie about her working process, her recording and an interview for instance you know about her progress as an artist, etc etc

also kool and serial killer could be dope as movie/series soundtracks i don't know if it's the case already she could make even more monnney

+ I don't listen to LFL a lot, it's a little bit too physical for me. I like the record, I got a lot of pleasure to listen to some of the songs sometimes (especially SB, Cherry, BPBP) but I'm not as obsessed as I was with UV or HM (I listened to HM like twice a day for 1 year, and I still listen to it a lot, I'm not tired of any song on it, the magic is still here, I know how lucky I am, it's a rare feeling).

I'm very mixed about WM, the song is greatly produced and sweet, but I can't forget how fake and caricatural it is...

I hope she keeps using piano and acoustic guitars as much as she did in Lust For Life but for the next records   (Oh and electric guitar of course )

Cherry is so good, I would think it's from ultraviolence if it was more guitar in the production. Awesome <3
My fav track in the album is still WTWWAWWKD though, that pre chorus is f seeeeeeexy

It's very good indeed..the only thing I don't like is that they tried to make it too radio friendly and Rick said that the original was more touching

Keep forgetting to post this, but every time she says the line, "Out of the black, into the blue" in Get Free, the visual image that comes to my mind is of Lana walking through the soft, dark granules of sand at a beautiful Icelandic beach, then feeling the fresh ocean breeze brush against her body as she freely embraces the ocean.

    Examples below:

I think it was the lyric in Summer Bummer where she says, "white lines and black beaches" that made me picture this. I wonder if she intentionally chose this imagery to keep the album consistent, or whether that line in Get Free is more symbolic and doesn't relate to the ocean at all. To me, it would make sense that it is this image that she's singing about, considering the sound of ocean waves at the end of the track.

The male actor in her upcoming video for White Mustang is also an Icelandic composer, as a side note, so I wonder if this has any relevance to the thematic element of black beaches, since they are most commonly found in the volcanic regions of Iceland.

Who knows? Perhaps "out of the black, into the blue" is purely color symbolism, but it's interesting to think of it as having a different meaning, and it makes complete sense to me considering the sounds in Get Free and the possibility of this line being a lyrical allusion to Summer Bummer.

oh lord please don't let me be misunderstood indeed

heroin and get free (even love & cherry) are songs that i love about the record that give me the dark vibe i'm looking for, some kind of closure about the weary moments. i don't want lana del rey crying and depressed after being mistreated by events i love that it's was a phase in her life and she's moving on, i want a more mature approach in the way she tackles the dark moments of her life and how and why she should go out of them as in more of that theme ... the last three songs do that in lfl but i wouldn't mind if she went further because i know there is more to explore and anyway she could do what she wanted i'm not sending her a letter with instructions

    edit
since i'm saying what i want, i wouldn't have minded something with the Maha Maha vibe for the witchy themes and please don't put words in my mouth it's annoying

The last chorus of WM gives me chills and the end with the whistle is very clever

i'm gonna say something unpopular and i might be wrong but coachella was her first attempt at something so in medias res as this, coachella part 2 could be surprisingly snatching, you never know

gba and wtwwaw are great and she has made them during a time when she had more perspective/distance and i admit i like she's trying to do these thing on the heat of the moment
