Let's just say it's a song that will forever be around and I still regret it! And it's also a lie/ something I don't agree with anymore

I've thought of getting I am my only God somewhere but then I wonder if that's a little too dramatic, maybe I'd get it in french or something
    Je suis mon seul dieu

Lately I've noticed that many people have been getting tattoos related to Lana Del Rey, either blatantly copying her tattoos

(Usually either the trust no one/ paradise tattoo) + placement or getting LDR's face, signature, or lyrics permanently inked.

    (See examples in spoiler)

What do you think about this? Does copying another person's tattoo take away the meaning?

Do you plan on getting a LDR related tattoo/do you currently have one? (If so, what?)

Post more LDR fan tattoos you've seen, etc etc

You probably won't want I was an angel looking to get fucked hard on your wrist a few years from now!

most of the inspiration behind lana's writing is about video games. she used to be a video game nerd, hence video games.mp3 ~gamer girl~ that song is about a guy she met while playing video games online. if she stopped playing, their luv stopped too! </3
    gimme them gold coins

I think this song is about mike, just because it's the one relationship that we know (?) didn't end amicably. she still talks to reeve, her and arthur are cool, I mean who knows about jimmy but I hear from his fans that he's the nicest guy ever (yeah ik taking crazy fans for 100%) and i think songs like my best days or you and me are more about jimmy or K...kind of looking back fondly on the relationship kinds of songs. i think mike tried 2 control her singing and eventually she just got tired of it and went off to do her own thing. like in video games she was fine just being with him but then the relationship got fucked up and she wanted to leave like in afraid. then she came back all different and confident (with plastic surgery) and he tried to tear her down again but she was not havin it. idk im a little high hope this makes sense

Honestly, I saw pictures of her at a festival.. the one where Barrie was there with her, and the way she was touching her nose made me think cocaine.. and I was thinking about how alive she seemed onstage compared to before. Everyone I've talked to who has seen her live said she acted like she was 'on something'.. Also remember she oddly canceled some shows. (She coulda really just been sick) Ah, who knows, I hope not and I hope she's alright. If she did relapse, I could understand why she might wanna quit music

One last thing, I think 'Get Drunk' is about Reeve and Jimmy. They were good friends, have videos performing together, and Lana has been linked to both. Plus, Jimmy and Lana (allegedly) met in AA. Although, I don't know the timelines so I could be 1000% wrong.

the assemblies of God seems like a v good possiblity! From the looks of it, it can be done on a larger scale, like a huge church service

Lizzy said she always goes on sundays to AG, assembly of God's calender - Prison Sundays /Mission Sundays and they also hold addiction groups, and maybe this is how she got involved w/ homeless outreach. there was one near soho that I found, on east broadway but I guess she was going in London..hmm

    Interesting interview~ http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/radar-band-of-the-week-no62-lana-del-rey

    Some excerpts:

Blinking under heavy lashes and auburn curls, she laughs when NME asks about the rumours. “I’m not a trapeze artist! Though I was born on the day of the worldly rapture, June 21.” (TPD note- referring to her old Myspace about me)

“I would move people, paint houses, wear sports jackets for pictures in truck magazines. It felt like fighting for survival for such a long time. No money, no place to live – I’ve been in more dangerous situations than other people,” she says, cagily.  (referring to her Craigslist jobs- God, we gotta find those truck mags!!!! I look for you in magazines)

Believe It Or Not: Lizzy’s good pals with Marina, who she met over Twitter and bonded with over a love of American culture.

I REALLY don't understand why any intelligent person would send their child with an addiction problem AWAY. If that were true, I'd understand if Lana held resentment toward them in the past.

    Let's talk about the

    underground pop princess,

    Sky Tonia Ferreira

You may know the 20 year old for her pop song "Obsession", which garnered her a small amount of success when it appeared on the soundtrack to the CW show "The Vampire Diaries" back in 2010. However, I think most Sky fans would agree that her music has only gotten better since then. Her sound is similar to that of a young Debby Harry/Shirley Manson/Courtney Love. She even covered Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans." Her genre is listed as electropop/dance pop/ indie pop.

This is the music video to one of her ballads entitled "Sad Dream"

On the other end of the spectrum, here is another video for her electronica pop song "Everything is Embarrassing"

You can buy her EP, Ghost, on Amazon now and her highly anticipated
(by loyal fans, anyways) album, I'm Not Alright, is expected to be due out sometime 2013!

What are your favorite/ least favorite Sky songs? Discuss anything and everything Sky related here!

(If anyone would like, I will make you a mix tape featuring some of Sky's 'best' songs.)

Singer- songwriter Fiona Apple McAfee Maggart burst into the scene with her first commercial hit 'Criminal' in 1996. Her musical style is described as jazz/alternative rock.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFOzayDpWoI

"Her songs are not afraid to get ugly, painful, and even in the most musically accessible moments, there's a touch of dissonance to make everything slightly uncomfortable." - Complex Magazine

Over the course of 17 years, Fiona Apple has released only four albums:

Tidal (1996), When the Pawn... (1999), Extraordinary Machine (2005), and The Idler Wheel... (2012)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbxqtbqyoRk

Although she is heavily regarded as a mysterious and reclusive person (she disappeared entirely from the entertainment scene for six years between her second and third albums), Fiona Apple is also known for her outspoken and unapologetic nature in her music and with the public.

"This world is bullshit. And you shouldn't model your life over what we think is cool and what we're wearing and what we're saying and everything. Go with yourself." - Fiona Apple, accepting a MTV award in 1997

For anyone who hasn't read it, I recommend reading her full Rolling Stone interview from 1998.  Even if you aren't a huge fan, it gives a lot of insight to Fiona's lyrics and complex personality.

(Trigger warning for anyone who chooses to read it)

Post whatever you find about Lana/Lizzy/Lizzi/Lizzie/May on the internet here or just random tidbits people have told you about Lana that you do not have sources for here.

Basically a good way to do it is to search one of her many names and change the year range via google. If you are looking to talk about things that you believe are true/theorize about Lana's life/inspirations/lyrics, see *LANANALYSIS* ..this is just a place to talk about stuff that has been found online/ information that may be true, may not be, who knows.

    Some Interesting Articles:

Affirms that she recorded something with "The Knocks" http://pressrepublic...rst-album/print
The original title of LDRakaLG was "God Bless America", talks about Lizzy singing in church choir http://www.huffingto...e_b_159346.html
Talks about her influences and kissing a handsome record exec (presumably Van) http://www.gq.com/en...iew-video-games
Not an old interview really, but it's one of my favorites. She seems to share more with GQ Randomly saw this picture of a guy named "Ray" next to Lizzy.. probably just a coincidence but interesting nonetheless!

Lana lived in the Manhattan Trailer Court mobile park on Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen, New Jersey- where there is Tonnelle station- you are a tunnel lined with yellow lights. I bet she saw the lights of the train from her window, and heard the loud noises of the train and the trailer park, dreaming of Jimmy to take her away :')  This belongs in Lanalysis maybe but I'm having FEELINGS okay. Like in the beginning she's being playful, Let me put on a show~ Let me sing for you, she's in love, she's been playing shows, still optimistic about her future.. and then it gets dark, the song wanes .. Let me put on a show~ she's (gogo?) dancing now, she's at a dark point in her career, not seeing any progression after making videos all day and music nonstop. Or maybe she realizes that the love is lost and he's not ever coming to get her. It kind of reminds me of when she sang "End of the World" by Skeeter Davis, how sad she got just singing it.   And the tune is similar.. I wonder if she listened to it a lot while writing Yayo.

It's a song that is reflective of her past but also speaks of her life at the time, imo.  When they were living in California, it took 2 hours to Nevada, it was a happy time, the world seemed new, etc. And now she wants him to take her out of the dark trailer park life because she misses that.  I think she was the one using then, obviously cocaine, and it was fucking w/ her dreams~  thinking of happier times with this guy or the life she wished she could live.

And they are tearing that trailer park down in 2014
