rip to the people offering money for a low to mid quality vinyl rip of an album they already have mid quality versions of and have preordered three different ways and only have about 4 days to wait for... I've never seen any more desperately pressed people in my life...

How can people think they know how a song is going to sound before actually hearing it and can decide their favorite tracks already?? Like I was expecting some fucking conga flute whatever beach party with Music To Watch Boys To (like Whenever Wherever By Shakira ) and obviously that didn't happen. At this point I don't know what to expect and I like it like that.

I agree with @. BTD isn't bad. I do like it. I've just listened to it so much and I feel like Lana has matured so much. I think honestly it would be more of a regression. I still listen to it every now and then but honestly I like the more progressive, mature, and evolved Lana. I personally wouldn't mind an UV 2.0 but I don't think that will ever happen either. Honestly Honeymoon is something new and different yet has elements of all her previous work. Win, win! Well hopefully. We will see when album drops.

I don't know promo, but it seems a very subjective thing. She's not like Taylor, but she's not like Chelsea Wolfe either. I could say she is mid-range, but this ignores the fact that her promo tactics are unusual and many of them are not obviously intended. Things just happen to her, and you cannot buy (or sell?) that kind of promotion. So she has a trendy actor as a thrallish admirer and chronicler, an inveterate rock pioneer as a social critic, photographs with Kanye and some music mogul, Eminem using her name in a lyric, and the Weeknd featuring and praising her. The Endless Summer tour was brilliant promo imo (both her youtube performances and her choice of tourmates). She also has inveterate music producers stanning for her. People thirst for her, and the most banal media exposure is savored as a tantalizing glimpse and echoed all over the internet. She is photographed both on the streets of LA and at a royal wedding in Monaco (wearing sandals and mostly her legs, a feminist symbol if ever there was one, imo). Now we are starting a phase of sensational photoshoots. Both Time and Rollingstone have just forefronted her as a fall release to anticipate. Let's just see what the album is. Finally, with all the minimal intentional promotion she does, I was glad to see UV re-enter Billboard 200 at 196. It's not that great but it's something (and it's the 53rd week UV charted).

Just want to say, cus i keep seeing this popping up here and there, that I am in a way glad that there are no area or store-specific bonus tracks this time.
I think its good to have a set selection of songs in stead of those Target-, iTunes-, Virginia-, Nigeria-only things. It saves us the trouble of getting these songs (as no way in hell I am paying for an overpriced cd that includes one more song + shipping costs from wherever the fuck, I'll be searching for it on tumblr) and also 14 tracks for an album is pretty generous. Okay, maybe not Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded-generous but still. Lykke Li's latest album, which was beautiful mind you, had a lenght that could classify that shit as an EP.
Not shading anyone but I just had to get this out. 

i think you all just need to come to terms with the fact that from this point on she will very much become a niche act. she may get the occasional top 10 hit here and there sometimes, but ultimately shes going to be an artist who will do well first week across the globe album wise and then fall off soon after simply for the fact that she doesnt have as strong a mainstream appeal for high sales.
 
yes she doesnt promote blah blah blah, but even if she did i really dont think we'd be seeing a major shift in exposure for her work really.
 
shes a creation of the internet, thats her biggest tool for her work. her videos get good hits on youtube, and promo she has seems to be relegated to her online community.

 
but really, how much promo is the hotline doing outside of the people who will already buy her album anyway. lets be real, no ones bothering to call a damn honeymoon hotline every week unless theyre a stan. it was a cute idea but its pointless as far as promo.
