I’m really excited for this album and the new single. BoZ’s description is just what I wanted for. but I must say that the single’s title is just so weird, like no one other than her can call a song Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd and make it the lead single of her new album

Now I just want to see the cover and tracklist

Of course BoZ had to spill while I was at work so I gathered that the new single is out Friday, that it’s called Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd and that it’s 4:45… and the album is in his top 3, with no outtakes Anything else?

It was almost impossible to listen to LFL from cover to cover except if you’re on a road trip. But I prefer the 16 very diverse tracks of LFL to the 15 tracks of BB: not that BB is bad at all (I really like it), but there are one too many songs that rely too much on piano alone.

Not me liking everyone suggesting 15+ songs when I just said I wish it was between 12 and 14 (NFR was the biggest shocker of them all, though, with its 14 tracks when VB is almost 10 minutes)

I listened to the Tunnel snippet we got, when it was out (before Lana posting about the theft) and remember it was so short and had so many watermarks that I couldn’t even say if I liked it or not urgh can we finally have the cover and tracklist? Why does time feel so stale when it’s just around the corner?!?

Thanks sweetie! i really don’t think we can compare the number of songs on a Lana album and other acts since her songs are usually longer than most of other female singers. Between 12 and 14, I’d be a happy camper.

How long are her songs though? (Real question, I don’t listen to her)

I still wonder why she never did release her collection of 25 unreleased songs… Maybe she doesn’t want to have old demos / scrapped songs she never did love to overshadow the albums she is proud of?

Her website being black, which usually happens before a preorder, makes me believe we’ll get a single, preorder and cover all at once. if it doesn’t happen and it’s « just a single », it’s still a win regardless. with the vinyl plants being very busy with all the demand, I think Interscope did ask to begin the rollout once the album was done and submitted and they could get a jumpstart on production. so: album submitted in October, preorder in December for a March release or early April.

I’ve been saying, in both Bb and COCC eras, that I’d love for her do something a bit trippy, where she is now the cult leader… Is this it?!?? Fuck, I’m perched now’!!!

What I remember was mostly spilled about his tastes during Bb era was said on ATRL; he loves « sadcore Lana », from what I gathered : Fine China was his fave from the initial BB tracklist, he likes wCE… He also loved the rework on Thunder, so I guess more produced tracks? (this is interpretation though)

I dont know why, at the moment, I feel like this about this album, but Eclipse had an interesting review of Taylor’s Midnights, where he said she integrated and polished all of her pop albums and turned their best elements into midnights. I think this could be the same for Lana’s: elements from UV, HM, NFR, BB and Violet while still being own and unique way.

He does really love pop but when it comes to Lana, he stans her early stuff, the « sadcore » Lana (he loved WCE, which was that). I don’t remember if he loved NFR, but my guess is that the album sounds very « sad » in the lyrics. But let’s not forget he also loves Caroline, who is not pop…

My comment will probably sound homophobic, but it is valid nonetheless (full disclosure : I am part of the LGBTQ community; I know it doesn’t give me rights to display some sort of lgbtqphobia, but still) im having a huge problem with gays right now spoiling everything on social media’s the second they watched / heard something. I’m also a big Star Wars nerd, love GoT and HoTD, I love the MCU and there is at least a 48-hour window of no spoilers in the discussion threads / tweets. But I don’t know why gays need to post ASAP about the RuPaul’s Drag race winners or shockers the minute they happened, and so on. I’m watching The white Lotus and no way that major LGBTQ media’s or users will shut up for 12 hours before discussing any gay twist or thirst trap (with pictures also, so it’s not just an intriguing title that I can skip if I want to avoid). anyways, back to Lana… what I said doesn’t necessarily apply to our two insider Legends : their teasing hypes this thread and they don’t reveal that much. But others who heard the album in advance spoil way too much… (thank god for this site and the spoiler box!!!) anyways, sorry for the essay, I don’t want to sound homophobic, but I’ve recently only experienced it with gay guys / gay community on socials.

So, who’s ready for the meltdowns when she posts the tracklist and we don’t see the titles Rockefeller or DNC?

I don’t think we’ll have to wait six months for the album, which makes it easier to wait. Also, Lana begging us not to listen to leaks makes me want to wait. I think I’d prefer to take my chances, and order a CD through Amazon that could be shipped early… rather than finding a file through that site that is always blocked for me (and there’s always the possibility someone will mess with the file, à la Dealer, and hearing the real version makes me wonder what sorcery is this)

Loved You Then and Now if the sound that DragonWhore teased is true, any song that is mysterious and with a cult leader-ish type of vibe… à la Cult Leader or Dragon Slayer (if it is in that vein). I really like UFB, but it should be reworked and probably not on this one. i really love Fine China, but don’t think it’s realistic to expect it this time around.

It sure is her worst cover ever it’s not that it is that bad, but it’s bad for her standards, although I didn’t find it that ugly after a Twitter fan account put side by side the COCC cover and the alternate UO one (which I like)

I do love Jack and Lana together but get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Not to go on with that endless debate, but I don’t think he will be the sole producer on many tracks, and that Drew will have his hand on songs. Everybody praises California, and it was a Jack and Zack track, so I’m all for « two-producer » songs.
