I’m not so sure she was using Lana to lure more people in… I mean, she is THE best selling female who doesn’t even need a lead single released to have a number 1 album with prereleases alone… Yeah, she talked a great deal about her collab and Lana’s involvement seems to be minimal (at least for the singing part), it got us talking and major media also talked about it… but I think she was honest with her admiration for our girl. Not to paint Taylor as a saint at all (she knows marketing and there are some things she did in the past that can’t be ignored), but Lana also loves to let the other people shine on her collabs, even when they are for her own album. I don’t know what went on in the studio that day, who decided she would only ooohhhss and ahhhhhs in the background, but I wouldn’t dismiss Lana or blame Taylor 100% (I’m surprised nobody blamed Jack on that one )

Didnt hear it yet, but knowing she is only doing background vocals, I’ll lower my expectations. God, Lana is going to be the highest paid backup singer ever!

I prefer Folklore and Evermore 1000% more than Lover. There’s just one song I like on it.

Poor Taylor: she got the « Lana curse », putting her on the album: the physical copies were sent way too early, which always happens with Lana.

Since the Rockefeller snippet, it’s been really dry indeed. But she did something I didn’t was possible in 2022: IMO, she regained her « mysterious » aura / persona that she had in her early career (switching to her HM account, posting freely and carelessly and not always in the purpose of an album).

Agree 100%. All the artists represented by TAP seem to have a lot of liberties and have very different endeavours. I imagine the first convo between Ed/Ben and a new artist is: How big do you want to be? Lana is an oddball and since uv, we have rumours that she wishes to be a recording artist mainly, like it was the case in the 60s. I think she learned how to compromise and she is very damn lucky that her vision of things (promo, albums…) is happening despite what the « rules of the industry » are usually about.

At this point, any nomination for a Grammy is a win…

I’m surprised BB got submitted- not because of the quality, but because of the old songs that are on it. Unless the Grammy’s changed their rules, I thought you couldn’t submit a song / album that was previously recorded more than 5 years since from release… (not 100% sure about this though, thought I read it in a major publishing media many years ago)

Everything you say makes sense, but call me basic, but he worships the ground beneath Dua. Could be about her, plus he commented on a post about her being in the studio, naming producers involved on her next album. i wish it was about Lana, it could be, but I haven’t heard a lot of praise for her from him lately. anyways, I’m looking forward for her Taylor collab, it’s way less frustrating.

I sure Hope she didn’t corner herself by limiting her covers to be country or folk only…

Really like the album. Still not a big fan of Girls or Golden, but the other tracks are very good. Am I Still Your Baby, Last Time and Radio Silence are my faves. Sunday in Heaven (track) is probably too religious-y for me to enjoy, but overall, it’s a very good album!

That’s exactly what I wish for. Which is possible if the album is currently being sent to production for vinyls. So, if she releases the lead while the album is done, a 3-4 month prerelease is possible (and it’s the actual trend). Which means that if it’s what she wants, she can’t do what she’s done for the last four-five albums: release a lead single while still finishing / writing the rest.

BoZ is sure good at one thing and it’s to get people all riled up thinking he is posting about their fave. He knows how to play a good teasing game. Could it be about Lana? Maybe, maybe not. Guess I’m just tired of getting excited for nothing

It’s only speculation from a note /PDF that was posted on that site. Someone here wrote down what was written. Apparently, a few lucky got to hear the album but in lq (a phone recording). The album is not country (duh) and there is a surprise collab that will please people. I’be been so disappointed by all of those « insiders shit » that I don’t believe anyone anymore
