The beginning of the song is very much country. If it’s the route she wants to dive into for her country album, I’m all for it.

True, she did have more time on her hands, but in the W Magazine, she said she now found it hard to write lyrics alone, that she needed someone with her to write and compose. So, if her collaborators aren’t available, not much seems to happen nowadays…

I trust Ben’s word better than Lana’s - when DCMA had been teased, someone at one of Lana’s tour venue asked him when the single would be out and he said two weeks… and it happened in that time frame. - about LMLYLAW: he said it would be out by the end of 2021 (he said new music but we knew it was that song) and it happened - he also debunked, in the NFR era, that the album would be out in the first half of the year, that « creation took time ». for many people, soon means in the next month or so, but if it happens in the next 4-5 months, it’s still soon, especially if she released two albums last year and two non-album singles this year. Our problem is that Lana triggered the word in the LFL era

I think we’ll get the lead before the end of 2022 with the album coming in 2023. I do hope that the lead is released with the album done and submitted, so we’d have a better / shorter rollout than COCC and even BB (even though BB was better IMO).

Don’t know if that’s what he meant but I must say it’s the « trend » at the moment: one single, sometimes preorder before that lead, and release within 3 months, 4 tops. Of course that means that the album is done and submitted before official announcement. Maybe this could be one « condition » Interscope imposed on Lana before anything happens for real.

I agree 100%. COCC is a «September day » album. BB is « a day at the cabin », whether you go there in the summer or fall. Many songs on BB are very « bright and warm October » in my mind. we need a « November evening » album.

Well, if the lead single of an album comes out in the next six months, « soon » was not a lie. Unless you’re Sky Ferreira seriously, guys, it’s surely the calm before the storm: the album for 2023 is a sure bet, a poetry book is probably coming also, the cover album has some songs already recorded, and there are surely collabs / side tracks that could be out in the meantime. True, it’s a bit dry at the moment, but we’ll be fed, I’m sure.

I was listening to Dealer (perfect fall song), Black Bathing Suit and If You Lie Down today and it got me nostalgic of prereleases, when we got a cover and tracklist and wonder how those songs sound like 🥲 I’m still not in a hurry for this album, but today, I wished we’d know a bit more NGL.

No matter what we’re manifesting, I’ll hunt down whoever wishes anything remotely resembling the abomination that is the Sped Up Version of Summertime Sadness.

I don’t mind waiting a little longer, especially if there is a side track / collab we could get this fall from her (if she recorded any, which is likely I guess). But maybe not a whole year; maybe like six months, with the lead in the coming months. (Thank God for Broken Bella’s latest release to get me satisfied until then; I was sure, this summer, we’d already be into this era’s pre-release at this time of year).

Broken Bells will release their brand new album on October 7. The concept is rétro futurism (a bit like Love was, but for an entire album). This album is honestly already incredible, with three singles out. The latest, Love on the Run, is a sublime 7-minute slow burner: this aesthetics would suit Lana superbly.

That’s what I understood also, that it was for promo purposes only. Chances are we’ve already seen pretty much all of what there was to see.

I pretty much agree with everything you said and see it like you do. as for the piano in her songs, of course there’ll be some, but I feel that it will be mainly as the « core melody », with other instruments attached to it. COCC and BB relied on them a lot, but they are, to me, « pandemic albums / reflections on her past », which would explain why they are more « simple » in terms of production. This new album feels like the albums we used to know before COCC. but hey, who knows with her, at this point? Maybe she only kept the piano on all the songs and stripped them all of other instruments

You’re a hero! for real, my first listen of this album was through a leak of a UO listening party it was so shitty lq! But you know an album is insanely good when you can’t help but fall in love with a song in super lq. The Blackest Day, Religion and DLMBM all stood out on first listen, even though people were chatting all around them.
