Yeah I really hope it’s not just a rumour. When Lana had posted that photo of her, Jack and Taylor, I didn’t give it that much credit, based on the Marina picture in 2018 (which was just Marina, Lana and Jack hanging around for « fun »). But the Midnights concept, Taylor’s last endeavours (which are more singer-songwriter), Jack being involved on Midnights, the persisting rumours coming from the Swifties and that now infamous sweater coming back in that BTS video: there are a lot of things / signs that give credibility to a possible collab. I don’t believe it’s 100% sure, but at least 60% likely. Plus, even though Lana and Taylor like each other, I don’t really think Lana would « hang out together » in the studio with Taylor just because Jack is there recording like are they even that close? From what I can remember, she only hung out in the studio with her-then boyfriends (Barrie, G-Eazy)

It’s a total mystery, how her company sees her, if she is « successful enough » in their mind. You could be totally right. one thing is for sure, they probably consider her an oddball… and yet, she keeps on surprising everyone. i imagine one big Zoom meeting of all the execs at Interscope, talking about future releases (or whatever happens in those meetings) and discussing Lana : « Meanwhile, Lana is doing better than ever on Spotify without any new releases, no big social media presence and an album that wasn’t even top 5 last year »

You’re totally right that we don’t know if that collab would be a hit or a single (or if even it exists at all ), but I was simply basing it on the fact that Taylor is the biggest female singer and that unless the song is pure trash, even « casual streaming » (don’t think it’s a thing but you get the idea) of the song could get big numbers

I don’t necessarily see a Taylor collab as « exposure », rather than an secure hit, which would certainly please Interscope without having to « compromise » the vision of the next album (as in: if the album does poorly, at least she still got big numbers out of that collab)

No matter what direction she takes with this album, I think we all want something a big bigger with this one. But I must say that if the album doesn’t go in a more mainstream road, I won’t mind because she is not releasing in summer like we thought she would. If the Taylor collab is true, maybe it’s another DCMA situation: it was good for a hit while letting her more leverage with her vision for NFR 🤷🏼

With new possible hints that Lana could be featured on Taylor’s new album, if true, I think we’ll get a taste of the new album maybe before but likely after Taylor’s release. and imagine how insane her streaming numbers would be, with a Taylor collab

I think we’ll be blessed, in the next two years, since there are at least four projects incomplete but that probably will be at some point (including LDR9). I know I just have to « care less » and not be at the edge of my seat at the first sign of a new project.

It’s really crazy how I lose interest very easily with anything Lana related these days: - LDR Village announcement that big things are coming. Me: the lead must be on its way. BoZ replying that she won’t release in September, also me: Okay, fine, whatever. - 7 second snippet from Lana. Me: oh it sounds divine, can’t wait to hear the rest of it. Two days later: what the f is she saying? And 7 seconds? Let’s move on. - Crazy for You snippet that has LB talking for a week. Me on first listen: oh it sounds so nice. Eclipse saying it’s boring, me: That’s what I was afraid of. And who the hell knows when a leaker, in their kindness, will grant us the possibility to hear it in full? Better shelve that one. I guess that after three or four releases of uncertainties finally got through to me and wore me out. also: the COCC rollout looks to me like what will happen with this album. So one single this fall, preorder early 2023 and album in Spring

I’ve had the song on repeat since this morning and it’s everything I needed right now: beautiful, touching, honest, with cosmic and vintage elements. Her voice is so beautiful. I love the vulnerability of the lyrics. It’s just incredible.
