Parts of your dream make sense, especially the title. I don’t think DNC is the title (that song was recorded too long ago to embody the direction of this album; highly doubt that direction was clear in her mind last fall). i really hope DNC is on the album and lives up to what I think it is

A fan account on Twitter had an interesting theory about the swan emoji from her last IG post: what if that post is the « Swan song » / last post on her HM account and the next post, she’ll reactivate her LDR main account? of course it would mean that she’d have to - gasp - have planned that ahead and it wouldn’t change (and we all know we don’t Stan Taylor at this point )

I liked it when it first leaked: the lyrics are really simple, but the early mix was very atmospheric, like Sad Girl. But I rarely listen to it anymore. The best line might be « I’ll put that red dress on again », almost acknowledging that she used that image many times in her past.

I dreamed last night that Ben spilled about the album, saying LDR9 was Lana’s attempt at folk music, and I was like « what was Chemtrails then?!? » not that I hate Chemtrails, but I want something a tad bigger

I don’t think there’s a definite rule for mixing, but depending of her recording schedule, she could Mix them after they were recorded and at the end, final mixing of all the songs so the volume is cohesive 🤷🏼 I don’t think that all the songs are mastered at the end of the process : we often got the lead.s of her albums way before she was done recording. some son take longer than others to mix: Change was done overnight (true, it’s a piano ballad for the most parts, but still)

This summer has been crazy for Lana: she was the 7th biggest streamed female artist this week, despite no new song or real social media presence. Lana is synonymous with summer and it would be a good move, to have a September release to keep the Lana hype alive when summer ends.

I really think the lead is coming in the next weeks with the album beginning of 2023… a 5-month rollout for a release with physical copies seems plausible (unless they let her release digital first, but I kinda doubt that). But it really depends what « near completion » means: is she done recording? Is there one more last song to finish and add? Or will she decide to add a couple more?

Honestly not that much: Ben said on IG that the new Lana album was near completion. Neil Krug posted something about « See you in September ». Of course, we assume it’s related to Lana but I think he could be going on a vacation or who the fuck knows? people in Lana’s team apparently liked the comments about Ben’s post (didn’t see those though).

Depends what soon means to someone. For LB, we always want soon to mean it’s dropping in the next weeks. But for Ben, soon means we’re getting a taste of it in the next six months apparently, which is kinda soon (especially after a year with two albums and two non-album singles). Anyways, the last time he gave a precise timeline for a project from her, I think it was when someone asked him at a festival when the DCMA song was dropping and he correctly said in the next week or two. Soon clearly means longer than that. anyways, I think she could be recording a last song or is maybe already in post prod of the whole thing.

I think the lead will be released sooner than that. It’s almost common practice to do so, while finishing an album.

Finally some news! And it is honestly all there is to know: we know she is almost done and should be starting things in the coming weeks. also, is the 🚀 emoji used by Byron or one of her managers means anything other than the era is about to launch soon?

Loved You Then and Now or Crazy for You… As long as we didn’t hear them before, especially if the album is « short » (12 tracks or less). If it’s a longer album, one or two previously leaked songs, if they fit, could be ok.

It makes a lot of sense. September has always been a good month for us (HM, Venice, Mariners, NFR being release just two days before the beginning of the month, Arcadia and preorder for BB…). And she’s probably towards the end of this album if it’s not already done.
