I know everybody is doubting it, but I don’t see the album out without a second single first. Even Chemtrails had two before release (for a shorter album). The first single was out before the end of year: once the new year starts, you have to have another single out; everything before new year is almost « forgotten » by the GP. Another single is mandatory to jog people’s memory (that’s why artists sometimes wait until January to release the lead, so people might remember it more). true, this album doesn’t scream « single material », making it possibly harder to find one song to single out without the context of the album. But there must be one that would create buzz around the album (UV is having a revival these passed months, Dealer was a TikTok favourite… A&W seems to be channeling the same wild side… or Maybe Grandfather, since it is not a very long track and has maritime references like MAC had)

This album seems to have been influenced by FJM’s Chloe and The Next 20th Century (Drew was involved with both, strings, piano, a bit vintage in sound, Lana and FJM are featured on the other’s album) Maybe the boxset will be similar to FJM’s? (Although it cost me a little fortune ) Two coloured vinyls, two single vinyls for the covers (imagine an outtake of Lana’s album on an exclusive vinyl ) and an incredible booklet of pictures… I can totally see that for Ocean Blvd.

Just realized that Paris, Texas is pretty much the same length of the SYML track she is featuring, so we pretty much have the instrumental (or, at least, the basics) of that track

When we had the preorder, Interscope used the cover for the white vinyl for promo; I thought it would be that picture on the Target poster, but I have no idea really. The titty poster is iconic AF. I want every variant of it.

Could be! Love that we don’t know much about that one. what I love, though, is that the title seems to be very « meta », with FJM’s own universe, channeling his lyric from Anthem: « there is a crack, a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in »

The only thing that « pisses me » a bit, about the delay, is that we are back at the mark « album coming in little over two months » when we had just passed « under two months » but hey, we got a first look at the boxset and got the tracklist, with still a couple of surprises left (Taco Truck X VB… never thought I’d see this one ever)

The only album from her that I loved the second half more than the first, upon release, was HM it always switches up after a couple of months. LFL has probably the best « Trinity of last songs » in her discography, but I can’t say that the songs before those 3 are my fave from that half of the album.

What a beautiful and nuanced critic of her tours! I agree almost 💯 with what you said! in the category « I wish I could have been there », her Hollywood Bowl performance is the one I wish I had been able to see in my life. Probably my fave from her ever.

At least we have a release date. This triggers me the most, with any pre-pre-release: I want a date with a preorder! NFR was insufferable on that matter. true, this era has had its delay, but I don’t think there’s gonna be a second one (and it’s two weeks more, not two months more, so I’m fine with it)

Totally agree!!! The way this verse repeats the structure of « there’s a tunnel » / « there’s a girl » and the piano notes in the background are so beautiful!!!

Yeah, and let’s be honest: if she posted on IG saying a single was coming on X date… would we believe her? so far, I don’t have much to complain about her posts, except that I find that they are too few at the moment.

I know, right? it’s probably nothing, just that Apple Music is waiting for an official statement from Interscope. But they sure are taking their sweet time (I really think she posted about it the minute she learned the news - thank god for that)

Come on, sweetie, don’t give up so early! Chemtrails had the title track with preorder in January for a March release; I expect another single by end of January or early February. And I’m not giving up on a magazine interview.

Probably unpopular, but of all of her recent homemade videos, Hope is my fave and one of my faves overall. It’s simple, and yet it embodies the song so well: so intimate, so soft. anything like that for the title track would be beautiful.

I also find this weird. That and the release date is still March 10. Same with her official ldr store. (I hope they’re not doing a North America March 10 release and a Europe March 24 release. This would be the messiest thing ever )

I’m not sure, it I wouldn’t bet on it. She used to have two shows where she would premiere her singles: Zane Lowe and Annie Mac. Annie Mac retired and her Chemtrails interview didn’t go well, so I don’t think she’ll premiere any further single on the BBC. As for Zane Lowe, it’s rumoured there’s been so sort of « disagreement » between the two? Like wasn’t there supposed to be an interview on the beach, when NFR was launched, and that didn’t go well and it never aired?
