  1. Idk if it’s just L.A., but there’s always a fight at every concert I’ve been to. Not always physical, but it gets this way, especially when people get drunk. It’s not just rap concerts.
  2. I feel bad that some of you guys who go to her concerts, or are devoted fans, and don’t get the chance to see performances from her like this. I mean even as an L.A. native, I can see the favoritism when it comes to California. But to be frank, the favoritism is toward a certain demographic in L.A. I won’t get too into it because I don’t want to trigger some people, but it’s this feeling I get- especially seeing the fans she usually gravitates toward that are always there and can afford it. Anyway, I hope all of you had a great night. It sounded like a wonderful show.
  3. I miss music moments like that. It could be because we’re now experiencing the instant gratification era. Even though we get music faster now and it’s convenient, the enjoyment and high from it all burns out fast and eventually people want more and more and more. That’s why people keep asking for leaks. And we all know how that negatively affects some artists who don’t want certain songs out there. The excitement especially burns out faster if you don’t like the music that comes out (as in Marina’s case), and it kind of worries me how it’s going to affect musicians these days. I think what made the EH era so good- and tbh one of my favorite eras compared to current artists I listen to- is because it was organized, well-thought out, promoted well, had the story and lyrics to match the persona that didn’t feel shallow, and Marina took her time with it. Even the low-budget videos were good because she put her heart into it. So idk if it’s something Marina is going through, but I’m seeing this in other artists too. I’m really curious if there’s hope for album eras like that again or it’s just a done thing.
  4. I did this at 2 AM so I'm sorry it's a mess. Let's just say she's performed almost all of these songs throughout the years. The songs from White Mustang to Ride is literally from LA to the Moon Tour, and there's only 4 original NFR songs + Doin' Time.
  5. I wanted to see how many times she's performed the same songs throughout the years so here we go... Festival Tour (2019) = GREEN, LA to the Moon Tour (2018) = ITALIC, LFL Promo Tour (2017) = *, Festival Tour (2016) = ~, Endless Summer Tour (2015) = UNDERLINED, Paradise Tour (2013-2014) = BOLD, Born to Die Tour (2011 - 2012) = BLUE COURIER NEW Norman Fucking Rockwell Bartender Chelsea Hotel No. 2 ~ For Free (Joni Mitchell Cover) Born to Die *~ Blue Jeans *~ White Mustang * Cherry * Pretty When You Cry * Change */Black Beauty/Young & Beautiful ~ Ride *~ Tomorrow Never Came Video Games *~ Mariners Apartment Complex Summertime Sadness *~ Doin' Time Off to the Races *~ Shades of Cool * Venice Bitch Someone said this is like LA to the Moon Tour part 2 and I.... agree....
  6. I love this rendition of the song.
  7. Haven’t listened to Halsey since Badlands since I wasn’t feeling the music she released after that and the drama that kept surrounding her. But I gave Clementine a chance and it’s so good!

    Lizzo

I hope Truth Hurts beats Fancy’s record as No. 1 rap song by a female artist. Charli XCX’s catchy hook is the reason why Iggy’s song did so well on the charts back then, and she just released an album so obviously Lizzo will shout out her friend. Iggy can stay mad.
  9. This was so difficult to decide- I would’ve submitted more recent unreleased tracks, but I stuck with what I consider “classics”. 1. You Can Be the Boss 2. Because of You 3. On Our Way 4. You & Me 5. Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight 6. Tired of Singing the Blues 7. Paradise 8. Velvet Crowbar 9. Backfire 10. Driving in Cars with Boys *edit: it’s 3 AM and I realized that Wayamaya and EMGHW were recorded before 2010 and I don’t remember when the Peretz Demo of Motel 6 was recorded. Damn it. Here’s an updated list.
  10. I just found this: Yep, it sounds better rearranged.
  11. Can you ever let someone like something and have an opinion? You can hate her new material, just let me post in peace. Thanks.
  12. I love how simplistic these recent visuals are. They compliment the acoustic versions well. Makes you focus on the lyrics and meaning behind them.
  13. 1. NFR! = UV 2. Paradise 3. Born to Die 4. AKA = Sirens 5. Honeymoon 6. Lust for Life Nothing’s changed since last year, honestly. But it’s still hard for me to choose a number one. There are some weak lyrical moments on UV, and even some production choices that I’m thinking twice on (the sound of the Sad Girl demo makes me appreciate the song more). But the rest of the track list + bonus tracks + tour + visuals + memories associated with this album makes it my number 1. Some of her best songs are on this album. NFR! has less weak moments for me, but the rollout for this album was the most painful to get through. The visuals are split between very good (FIILY/TG, DT)~ to inconsistent or okay (CG’s work). The promo decisions left me frustrated- and by the time she DID do interviews, in such a short span of time- it was overwhelming (new album announcement already? wut?) The radio-edit and single choices were questionable. People are split on snippets- I’m leaning more toward not listening to them at all for the next album. But NFR! itself is amazing. The production, the lyrics all work for me. Even the “weaker” tracks are better compared to her previous work. I haven’t had this much enjoyment listening to an album like this since UV. The positives and negatives of these albums balance each other out, but I’ll see how I’ll feel in the future.
  14. I’m not a stan of Cupcakke, but I always respected her as an artist since she has a lot of talent + body positive + always wants to give back to her loved ones and fans. I heard she had depression, but seeing that video disturbed me. It didn’t feel normal- not only because of how she’s acting... but how there’s a person recording her in this state- probably a man. Who films someone having a breakdown? All I could think of was that time she opened up about her abusive ex and how he drove her to become suicidal and her last worrying tweets were brought on by him. So I can’t help but feel like this guy is back and forcing her to do this again and tweet whatever insults she made before the IG live. Idk, I got some sick twisted vibes from that video. I know that Kpop fans and others were insulted by her tweets (I didn’t see them) are saying she’s just doing this for attention and she couldn’t take the heat from the backlash. But honestly, what if she didn’t want to go Azealia Banks? And randomly too. What if she didn’t want to quit music? What if her abusive ex is back or he got her involved with the wrong people in the last year and they want more control over her? Idk I’m probably reading too much into it. But it’s worrying.
  15. Random thought... could’ve worked better if they switched Ariana and Miley’s parts and that structure could’ve added the potential to have a little story line in that video- ugh it just bugs me that Ariana’s part bores me now when I bother to listen this song.
  16. Michael Buble, Father John Misty and I have no clue for a third person...
  17. I'm not in denial of anything? I just find it odd you're downplaying the success and everything else that's happened since 2014? Again, what does all this have to do with "Don't Call Me Angel"? If it was "too slow" for radio-play, which makes me laugh thinking about it- why did Ariana ask Lana to hop on the song knowing her style, and why did Lana's part get the okay in the final cut? She's had plenty of other collabs that didn't make it because the other artist either scrapped their entire project or it didn't lead to anything. This song was going to come out one way or another because it's part of a mainstream soundtrack for a movie they're trying to heavily promote. Why cut out one of the artists featured on it, when the main artist- Ariana- made it clear she wanted both Miley and Lana on the track and she's been promoting it that way since they teased it?
  18. UV wasn’t trashed by all critics. It debuted at #1 and performed better than expected. It was the era she finally came back touring the U.S. and her fan base only grew from there. She didn’t get a Grammy for UV, but she got a nomination for LFL. Doin’ Time could’ve performed better on the radio if it was promoted well. Likewise with FIILY (should’ve also been rerecorded for the clean version) and The Greatest. But back to the subject matter, all that you’re referring to shouldn’t have led to this decision especially since she was asked to be on it by Ariana. Removing her from this song doesn’t make sense since the whole hype surrounding it has to do with the fact that all three artists collaborated. And it’s fitting since the movie surrounds 3 of Charlie’s Angels? So I don’t get why they’re editing her part out. And I also don’t get what you’re referring to- which happened 5 years ago- has to do with her being cut from the song on the radio?
  19. Wth... but it’s not like it’s a 6 minute song.... I don’t get the logic...
  20. Hmm, weird. I’d say worrying, but I’ve come to not have high expectations in how she expresses herself. But it does weird me out how, unlike other artists- even the people she considers friends who acknowledge their gay fans and they show them love- that she gives very vague answers when it touches that subject. I mean she’s very loving in person, but she never outright acknowledges her gay fans when she does interviews... I think she mentioned before that it surprised her there were so many men that connected to her music, but I didn’t understand why it seems so far out to her that people with varying sexualities would connect with the lyrics. lmao idk where I’m going with this. She’s aggravates me, but I’ve come to accept it at this point.
  21. She sounded so lovely, my favorite recorded performance of her covering this song.
  22. I love how simple the Superstar music video was. Gave me an old-school feel.
  23. This honestly would’ve been great! Rewatching it, Ariana’s part in the visuals could’ve been better tbh. It looks too much like a Victoria secret ad and that suggestion would’ve made her part more interesting to watch.
  24. You’re not the only one. Idg what people were expecting. It’s meant for a soundtrack to a movie and this was Ariana’s song. Of course Miley’s and Lana’s parts were short... they’re the features lmao and I thought they all did good.
