Ok WOW. Never listened to Dorian's solo stuff, but loved his part so much in Femmebot. I follow robokid on all socials and saw he retweeted it and I was shocked because Dorian looks really similar to my ex boyfriend (Dorian's hotter tho) and HOLY VUVCK=FIJVKJDJDN SHIT this album blew my mind. First time I heard Emasculate I was LEGIT getting turned on, what a hot & emo sexually frustrated GENIUS fucking track. It's like the song of my life rn WOW, cut the man right out of me. All the different melodies and hooks he worked together so effortlessly? Never heard anything like it Musical Genius, Man to Man, Mr. To You, Flamboyant, Freaky4Life????????? HOW is this so good and people are really sleeping on him. I was one of those people until Thursday morning and I already have half the album memorized. An instant stanning. I'm about to buy concert tickets to see him in October THE TALENT is overwhelming. There ain't one song I don't love and I can't wait for those bonus tracks to leak too.

ok i listened to all 7 songs from this era on REPEAT at work today, my coworkers were so fuckjing over it but honestly..... can't find a flaw in any of them except MAYBE sweet spot?? but its like a gay disco bop that i needed from her, and it's only my least favorite cause all the others are sooo strong. i hated broken soooo much at first but like every song is perfect lmfao she did the damn thing. it was hard to accept thew new sound but i'm so here for miss petras' new sound

I appreciate that she has taken a step back from being the intricate and detail oriented artist that she is, at least on the surface of this album. The theme is so simple but extremely powerful. The fact the CD is split between Love & Fear is honestly crazy smart. This might be my favorite Marina album ever. I agree that lyrically it's not up to par with some of her other work. And I also agree that it's the most palatable and radio friendly Marina we have ever heard. But I disagree with those saying this is her worst album. The growth that she shows from Fear & Loathing to Soft to be Strong is really powerful. It honestly feels like she's found someone who has grounded her and accepted her fears, and done everything they can to show her they're there for her. You have to just listen and try to relate to it more than before, where she laid out the theme and all the concepts flat for us. She gave us the basic template and left it open for interpretation. IMO, a very well done release. I can relate so hard, all of my relationships have ended because of my overwhelming fears that end up pushing people away. The Love side is the truth she has come to find out, and the Fear side is her reminding herself that she has the power to control how she feels. I might be biased because I met a guy I've been talking to for months the day Love came out, and we've spent every waking moment of every day together since 3 weeks ago and I'm falling so quickly for him. Superstar describes him perfectly, he never judges all of my fears. But my Fears are starting to come back to the surface and hold me back. The second half of this album coming out today could not have been any more perfect timing for me personally, so I resonate with it very strongly. Overall this is still an evolution of Marina, and something new for her to try, and the album she feels the most passionate about. I don't think we should compare her old work to this, because when you compare anything to something else, there's so much room for disappointment. Sit back and enjoy L&F's problems, you don't always have to solve em. I didn't know there was a soul in the world who could hate FROOT. and yesssss sis I couldn't agree more, STBS is the best song to end Fear with bc of how fucking positive it is. She isn't controlled by her fear anymore. I love it.

"he has a unique perspective" you'd instinctively think to use "an" because a word that begins with a vowel follows it, but because it sounds like a the consonant "y", you use "a" "in an xcx world" like the user above stated, XCX is said with an understood "eh" or "e" sound, so you use "an"

So I have been listening to Superstar a lot to really give an opinion & just went back through the last 20 pages of this thread. I'm not shocked (well I kind of am) that a lot of people don't like Superstar. I think it's so good!!! I don't mind the trap drum thing. I never listened to the demo tho, so I don't know what they changed exactly. My one and only complain about the song is a tiny one; at about 3:09 when she says "I love the way we work" to lead into the final chorus, there's an awkward glitch! Did anyone else notice that? I didn't see anyone mention it in the thread. It's almost like they deleted 1/16th of a second when she's saying "the" and it comes out sounding like "I love th-way we work." It just sounds sloppy and a big blip in the otherwise great production value. I'm really looking forward to this album!!! I can see why y'all want her to go back to more "meaningful" lyrics like TFJ or Froot, but she seems to be very proud and excited of what she's done with Love + Fear! I'm just accepting the new sounds, because all (good) artists inevitably will change their style to something that you may not care for! Be open, sistren, this could be her magnum opus!
