Unquestionably one of the best (on par w SportCruiser imo or just is). I'm impressed with how she personified a city and compared her life, wants and needs to those of LA. All kinds of lines stand out. Sometimes I'll play it just to have it in the background, or if I see it floating around in a playlist and am reminded of how beautiful it is - I think it's because it's spoken word that I don't exactly have to be in a certain mood to listen like I do with a song.

Oh Lana, you brilliant b*tch, constantly trying to get me emotional!
    Well, you have succeeded.
I've only listened to 6 poems from Violet, so I still don't have the full vision, as we can say, but out of the six this one was truly special and made me cry. The way she is fully committed to the words... God, I'm speechless!
Still need to process, though, because A LOT is going on down here

My favorite so far. Cant stop listening to it. Already craving more spoken poetry of hers. I remember replaying her dialogue in ride over and over when I was younger... something about her voice speaking about her emotions and experiences is very comforting for me. I get so lost in it. I think it makes me feel less alone.

I hope to see more in the future

There's also a full moon on Monday. My delusional ass is going to take to mean we're getting album news at the beginning of the week.

Uh, Azealia's persistent attitude problem and bodyshaming aside, the girl is talented- wildly so. The only reason she hasn't made it farther than she has is because of her attitude problem. Let's not pretend like she doesn't have talent that rivals Lana. Her twitter/insta rants and tirades don't erase her accomplishments and skills. Don't be dumb. Also, don't mention "systemic racism" when you suggested a few posts ago that a POC was being racist towards a privileged white woman. Thanks.

ty!! I really hope so too. Prayers chuck e cheese grant has no involvement. I really love this pic but I can see why it was never used for anything, if u look at it for a little bit it starts to look like her eyes are going two different directions

I just think that since they didn't give her a grammy for the renown and highly praised album NFR, choosing instead to favour trendy teen music over it, that it'll never happen. It is what it is - at the end of the day, this one particular award show doesn't define her success and never will.

I really didn't notice how beautiful "Never to Heaven" was until I properly read the lyrics. There's something very profound about the lyrics "at least i won't have spent my life waiting / looking for God in the clouds of the dawn"...it's very Christopher Hitchens almost--in that he believed that not only did theism do no good to society, but was a waste of time and held humanity back.

but maybe i'm just projecting my own feelings on to it (although, arguably, that's what poetry is for; to find yourself in side of it)

omg i just looked at the poll and i cant believe how few votes "Never to Heaven" got! Personally I think "Violet Bent Backwards Over Grass" and "Never to Heaven" are the best poems...with "Sportcruiser" being a close 3rd

I agree, it's a weird paradox. There are as many wealthy, loaded people in their supercars as there are those who are struggling to reach their dreams. Musicians by the ocean, rap groups break dancing in the streets. The greedy and the givers. The city is a wildcard. I've never seen a place quite like it before.

She's well known as a nut job by now. I can't ever take her seriously lmao, and neither does the industry anymore. She's talented as a singer/rapper but after her countless controversies and erratic behaviour for years, her reputation precedes her now.

I'm sure it'll be a lovely little time! I do this quite often myself, except it's summertime here and well each season has its own beauty. I guess it made me feel happy to be reminded that I'm not the only one who does just this Nothing like a scenic time with scenic soundtracks.

I visited there 3 summers in a row (except this one ofc, covid) - it's just so... different? That's the best way I can describe it anyway. Everyone and everything is just openly different and weird and nobody cares, in a really good and refreshing way. I feel so alive when I'm there. Then again, where I live in comparison, is dead.

If I were God, I would erase the whole universe before ever letting such sick crimes like this happen. I damn Epstein, Prince Andrews, Trump, Clinton, Maxwell, and every single person who let them get away with it. The fucking "justice system" and all the crooked organizations and people in the world. This story always makes me feel so helpless- the damage is done, the rich people are free, and they will stay free. I just want to be like a guardian angel or a mother and hold the survivors in my arms and give them all the love in the world and make them feel safe. I hope the rich come toppling down with this story, but of course we know they won't.

Hoping the collab is for Zella's album. Collabs never add anything much to Lana's discography for me. I liked the ASAP Rocky collabs but the rest I could take or leave.
