Totally. It happens a lot with 'Sky's the Limit' big dream donation plans to plan to do something, but it ends up being more sensible to actually do something else - I'm just not sure what exactly that is from Lana yet? I wish there was a bit more information available on her website around the transparency of what is actually being donated, to what organisation, and how it will benefit Native Americans. Like, is it legally to one big foundation, or is she donating across multiple orgs? As someone not in NA I'm still not even sure how to refer to the organisations correctly or know what exactly some of my money (if any?) is going towards. As a side note - at the start of the year in Australia a comedian raised $50 million to donate to organisations to help with the after effects of bushfires. Everyone I know donated, but later in the year we found out a court ruling had passed that because the donation was set up for the NSW fire fighters, legally all the money went there and couldn't be shared to other organsations. That has me really weary of knowing exactly what I'm supporting going forward, hence I am finding her claim to 'split half the profits' to her 'advance' a little disingenuous even though she has clarified. I would - and still have - bought the book for fun, but it's so good to hear she's supporting a cause. So I hope there is a forward in the book or a follow up interview about it where she talks about it in much greater detail! I think some people have touched on it but I still don't even know why she is specifically donating to Native Americans and why the cause is dear to her (?). ETA: Yeah, disregard this ENTIRE POST she has clearly said it's for Navajo Water Project, as as for why: https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2019-12-20/lana-del-rey-spoken-word-album-poetry-book

I wonder if it'll be released on streaming tomorrow, or only when the CD is released? I guess we'll know in like 24 hours. I've pre-ordered the album on Google Books so I wonder if it'll also drop at the midnight PST or at midnight Aus. time. A MOMENT OF SILENCE To acknowledge this project is finally being RELEASED. Here were some of the classic lies from waiting for this: Will release the book before Norman Fucking Rockwell in 2019. (source) Going to drop off a little self-bound few copies to some select retailers. (source) It will be released 4 January, 2020 (source) It will be released "about a month" after 4 January. (source) It will cost $1 'because my thoughts are priceless' (source) Half of the profits were to go towards Native American Organisations* (source 1) (source 2) She is just donating her entire author advance, not the profits? Will update accordingly if she clarifies. WHAT AN ERA. I was skeptical it was ever going to happen but we've released the finish line. Thank you and goodbye so we can focus on music again.

It will almost definitely be on Spotify and Apple Music. But if you don't want to use the free trial to download it (no strings attached after you cancel the subscription trial), then there are other options for a one-time purchase: Here is the link to it on Google Books. Here it is on Kobu. Here it is on Booktopia. and just as a reminder!

I think it's fair to assume she's with Sean, but it could be for a couple of reasons. Sometimes I meet up with my ex's because they want to catch up, so I do it for them. Sometimes I want to catch up with them to test the waters and see if I'm over them, or for keeping up appearances. Sometimes I'm around them to fuck with them.- 246 replies

Currently sitting at 94 on Metacritic, a bloody STRONG drop. It's certainly her most appealing album for me - I've always kinda been meh towards her material but have loved her generosity and dedication, so it's great to have some material I really enjoy and can get behind. I actually love exile because I love Bon Iver! It really carries their signature atmosphere and those vocals are so idiosyncratic it makes me VERY at home haha.

This comment made me chuckle. No shade intended, I'm not sure how old you are but this comment just makes you sound very green! Don't worry, when you get a bit older you'll see it's not so black and white. As an artist myself, when I was a lot younger I thought if it wasn't trying to say something deep it wasn't real art - in reality sometimes artists just want to make something entertaining to give people a good feeling. And that is just as artistic as uhh 'the human condition'.

I literally just watched it for the first time about a week ago. I've seen well over one hundred films while isolating and this is probably the ONLY one that actually was worth the fucking long run time (all others should be like 30 minutes shorter). I had no idea Diane Keaton was in that role until I just looked at the cast ahaha.

I'm really interested in Two Boys Kissing - how come you gave up on it? How was it, and how did you lose interest?

I just finished reading, and would recommend, the absolute downer that is "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" by Raymond Carver. Each story ends on a long sad exhale, carrying emotions that are brutally honest but somehow predictable and disappointing at the same time. It's several bleak short stories that really hit the mark on the shared experiences of ordinary, lonely people. Love is wonderful, but these stories really reflect on how hard it sometimes can be to keep an optimistic outlook in what it takes to love somebody, unquestionably, every day. It came out in the 80s but blah blah snake person nihilism it still feels relevant etc etc. Carver's poetry is just as depressing and amazing. Check out his poem - Wine - to get a feel of his writing. For three days Alexander mourned. Wept. Refused food. "Refused to see to his bodily needs." He even promised to give up wine forever. (I've heard such promises and the lamentations that go with them.) . . . And when the pyre was burning and the bowls of wine were passed his way during the ceremony? Of course, what do you think? Alexander drank his fill and passed out.

Now we can stop focusing on who's driving and instead drag the fact that someone is DRIVING AND USING THEIR PHONE.

Hahaha Hit + Run is so iconic. My housemates and I used to make fun of it and sing 'Simpson's Hit and Run' when we listened to it, but it is genuinely a trashy bop. Guilty pleasure indeed. I also really like Dynamite despite it being a lil kitchy.
